A Word from Mr Broom
It was also International Mother Language Day on Wednesday and we marked the occasion by celebrating languages from around the world.
We also have future table tennis stars in school! Fin, Nate and Sam competed in the Yorkshire Table Tennis Finals in Scarborough and did incredibly well.
Next week, we welcome the Pre School for one of their pre-visits and Mr Snowden is heading to the battlefield at Towton with Year 5/6. It's also club night on Wednesday and I've got my running shoes ready for my gang!
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

New Bike/Scooter Shed Arrives
With a huge thank you to Pavers and the PTA, and of course to James Herbert for the construction, our bike/scooter shed is now open and ready to use. We're looking to put on a bike/scooter to school week to promote healthy lifestyles. What a lovely resource.

World Book Day - 6th March
We are starting to look ahead to World Book Day, which we will celebrate in school on Wednesday 6th March with a whole range of exciting activities. I wanted to give you advanced notice about some of the interesting reading opportunities we have planned.
· Dress up as your favourite character or wear your comfy clothes/PJs to come to school.
· Parents are invited into class to come and share a book with their child 8:30-9am. This might be a favourite book from home or a book from our reading areas in school.
· During the day children will have the opportunity to share their love of reading with pupils from different classes.
We cannot wait to see the amazing reading adventures you get up on this day and share our love of reading as a whole school community.
Thank you for your support with these exciting activities.

Car Convos!
Talk is really important for all learners in school and we know that our children are exposed to lots of exciting learning opportunities, both at home and at school. To help develop speaking and listening skills and knowledge of the wider world, we're introducing Car Convos! A topic that we share in the newsletter on a Friday, that families can discuss in the car on their travels. We'll then pick this up after the weekend.
This week in school, we've talked about Mother Languages. Our Car Convo this week therefore aims to build on this.
This week's Car Convo:
What does it feel like to visit places where the language you know isn't spoken?
PTA News
Our next PTA meeting is scheduled for Thursday 7th March.
