WBHS presents "Radium Girls" - Tickets on sale NOW!
The cast consists of 31 ensemble members, with 40 students working behind the scenes participating in necessary work such as set and costume design, technical work and more.
In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court.
Showtime for each performance is 7 p.m. all three dates (Nov. 11-13) Tickets are $15 and are on sale now at www.showtix4u.com. Tickets will also be on sale at the school’s box office prior to each performance.
Blessings in a Backpack Trivia Night - Nov. 5!
Have you reserved your tickets for yet?? This fundraiser for Blessings in a Backpack will be held on Friday, November 5 at St. George Church , 43816 Woodward Ave, Bloomfield Hills. Blessings in a Backpack is a program, run entirely by volunteers, that sends six non-perishable meals home with needy West Bloomfield School children for each of the 40 weekends of the school year.

IRS Advance Child Tax Credit Materials To Share With Michigan Families
As you might be aware, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 was recently signed into law and it contains numerous relief provisions for individual taxpayers, including some significant changes to the Child Tax Credit.
As for background regarding this Advance Child Tax Credit, please look at the attached Publications 5534B and 5534C.
The Advance Child Tax Credit is not just available to taxpayers with children that file tax returns, but also to people with children who have low or no income. Which could help many children escape poverty in America.
To qualify for Advance Child Tax Credit payments, individuals must:
· Have a main home in the United States for more than half the year (the 50 states and the District of Columbia) or file a joint return with a spouse who has a main home in the United States for more than half the year; and
· Have a qualifying child who is under age 18 at the end of 2021 and who has a valid Social Security number; and
· If have earned income, made less than Modified Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of:
- $75,000 or less for singles,
- $112,500 or less for heads of household and
- $150,000 or less for married couples filing a joint return and qualified widows and widowers
Advanced Child Tax Credit payments are not considered income and will not affect your access to government benefits like SSI, SNAP, TANF or WIC. See #IRS info at https://go.usa.gov/x6fyE
Blessings in a Backpack Application - 2021-22
If your child qualified for the Free and Reduced Meal Program last year or this year, s/he can also participate in the Blessings in a Backpack program. This program sends six non-perishable meals home each Friday of the school year. Its goal is to make sure that no child goes hungry on the weekend. Run by volunteers, there is NO cost to you.
If your child is going to school Face to Face, s/he will get his/her bag of food at his/her local school. If your child is enrolled in Lakers on Line, please indicate that on the form and we will contact you on food pickup arrangements.
WBSD STAR CERTIFICATE NOMINATION FORM
The purpose of the West Bloomfield School District Board of Education Star Certificate award is to recognize outstanding achievements by the students, staff and community members of the West Bloomfield School District. Honorees are also recognized for service to the district above and beyond the call of duty.
In order to be recognized, nominees must be a member of the district as a student, staff member or community member in West Bloomfield. Student groups and teams are also eligible for nomination.

Saturdays from 9:00am - 11:00am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 26998 WoodwardAve. (Royal Oak, corner of 11 Mile and Woodward - enter at 11 Mile)
For the safety of the mobile pantry guests and our volunteers, food will be placed in the trunk / back hatch of a vehicle.

October 26 at 7-9 PM via Zoom
Join us for a virtual screening of the PBS POV documentary Neurotypical by Adam Larsen, followed by an informal discussion. A 4-year-old, a teenager and an adult, all on the autism spectrum, work with their perceptual and behavioral differences in a “neurotypical” world. Virtual Halloween Spooktacular
Thursday, October 28, 6:30-7:30 PM via Zoom
Join this haunting good time with the Library as we celebrate Halloween virtually! We’ll be reading silly stories, dancing to some spooky songs and crafting with some creepy supplies. Halloween craft kits are provided with this program. This program is limited to residents of West Bloomfield and contract communities. Recommended for all ages. Registration required.
