Happy November and congratulations on a successful first quarter! By this point our 6th graders (and their families) should be settling in and taking advantage of all SMS has to offer! Be sure to ask them about clubs, athletics, and other Middle School activities in which they can participate!

We had a great week with the Scholastic Book Fair and give major thanks to its Chair, Nina Beck! Nina is a whiz with all things books and set up wonderful displays to inspire even the wariest reader to explore.

Concessions are back and better than ever for all of the boys’ home basketball games! We encourage you to come out and root for our Spartans and support PTO with purchases of popcorn, drinks, and snacks. Thank you to SMS and the amazing student helpers who staff the booth for each game.

Fundraising kicks off Nov 4th for the Washington DC Trip. 8th-grade students should be bringing home a letter and order form . Quick recap - this sale will run Nov. 4 - 18. All orders and sales turned in by Nov 11 will receive vouchers for poinsettias on the 18th. All orders turned in the following week will receive vouchers on December 2. Varners will have poinsettias available for pick up at their nursery from Nov. 19 - Dec. 24. Happy selling!

Staff Appreciation will be treating our amazing teachers and staff to a Trail Mix bar this month. Be sure to read below for sign-up links for November and December events.

Varners will have poinsettias available for pick up at their nursery from November 19 - December 24.

We are just wrapping up another very successful Scholastic Book Fair. It was an overwhelming success in both sales and participation.

The Schmucker PTO plays a vital role in supplementing the educational experiences of our students. The funds and services the PTO provides allow for opportunities not possible as part of the traditional school budget. Some of the items and activities the PTO plans to fund this year:

• Staff/Teacher Appreciation Events

• Grant teacher classroom requests not covered by the school

• Educational Events

• 8th-grade end-of-year party

PTO Dues: This year we are asking for $15 per Schmucker Family to be a part of PTO and help to fund these activities. The MORE dues and donations we receive, then the LESS fundraising we will have to do this year.

Please use one of the two options to pay your PTO Dues:

1) You may pay electronically by clicking the link below, which will direct you to our electronic PTO dues site. This is very convenient and can be done so very quickly and easily.

Create an account for yourself & associate it with Schmucker Middle School, then start uploading any receipts with qualifying purchases! Schmucker will be automatically credited with those points!

The Parent Teacher Organization at Schmucker Middle School plays a vital role in supplementing the educational experiences of our children. The funds raised by our PTO allow our students to have opportunities not funded by the school budget.
