Holiday Greetings!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the festive season, we are delighted to share the joy and excitement that fills our preschool during this magical time of the year! Here's a glimpse of the holiday happenings at Edith Teter Preschool and South Park Early Childhood Services:
1. Children's Holiday Craft Workshop:
Create beautiful winter wonderland decorations with your child to enjoy every year throughout the holiday season or give them as precious gifts. 🎅🏼 Free for all families with children ages 0-5 years!
2. Our Musical Snow Show: Join us for a special holiday sing-along featuring classic tunes and cheerful jingles. The children have been practicing their favorite songs, and we can't wait for you to hear their sweet voices fill the air with holiday spirit.
3. Winter Snack Fun: Our preschool chefs will be whipping up some winter-themed snacks! From warm hearty soup to yummy breads and hot cocoa, the children will enjoy delightful healthy treats that capture the essence of the season.
4. Holiday Storytime: Cuddle up with your little ones for a special holiday storytime session. Our teachers will be reading classic holiday tales from cultures around the world that are sure to captivate and inspire the imaginations of our preschoolers.
5. Festive Spirit Week: Let's add a splash of holiday cheer to our preschool! The week of
December 18-21, we invite all children to come dressed in their favorite festive attire.

✨ Preschool Scholarship Fundraiser ✨
Click to ORDER here - send to your friends!!
In the twenty plus years of our program's history, we've held fundraisers to raise money for children's tuition scholarships.
This year we are trying something new. Even if you do not usually choose Little Caesars Pizza, please share our link with family and friends. They will have their orders delivered directly to their doorsteps! Easy and quick.
A little about the fundraiser:
- The fundraiser ends December 6, 2023.
- you order online and the package comes frozen directly to your address via FedEx
- you can also order online and visit any Little Caesars store nationwide to pick up your pizza hot and ready.
(you must order online or via the app before going to the local restaurant.)
- they offer desserts as well as gluten free options!
Please use the main link and send it out to friends and families.
This is not a competition, so we will have a preschool wide pizza party for the students at the end of the fundraiser to celebrate their/your hard work.
Thanks in advance for your help and be shameless with your sharing!
❄️Delay Start or Snow Days❄️
Dear families,
Please make sure your phone number is correct in our student information system as this is the system the district uses to announce delay starts or no school due to emergencies or adverse weather.
Reminder, in the event of a delay start there is no morning class for the Ponderosa room. All other classrooms will begin at 10:00 am. No breakfast is served. Ponderosa afternoon class will have class at their normal start time.
In the event of adverse road conditions it is okay if you are not comfortable driving your child to preschool. Please give us a call to let us know you are okay. We care about your safety!
Holiday Travel With Children
With the holiday season approaching, many of us are gearing up for festive family gatherings and exciting adventures. Traveling with preschoolers can be an adventure in itself, and we want to make sure it's a smooth and enjoyable experience for all. Here are some tips to help you navigate holiday travels with your little ones:
Plan Ahead: Make a checklist of essential items such as diapers, wipes, snacks, favorite toys, and any special comfort items your child may need.
- Plan your travel itinerary with breaks for rest and play. This helps keep your child engaged and reduces the likelihood of restlessness.
Pack Smart: Pack a special bag for your preschooler with their favorite snacks, books, and activities to keep them entertained during the journey.
- Don't forget to bring any comfort items like a favorite blanket or stuffed animal that can provide a sense of familiarity.
- Dress Comfortably: Dress your child in comfortable clothing for the journey. Layers are a great option to adjust to different temperatures. Pack an extra set of clothes in case of spills or accidents.
Timing is Key: Try to plan your travel around your child's usual nap or sleep schedule. A well-rested child is more likely to be content during the journey.
- If traveling by car, consider starting your journey early in the morning or late at night when traffic is lighter.
Snack Attack: Pack a variety of healthy snacks to keep hunger at bay. This can also serve as a distraction during the journey. Stay hydrated, and bring a spill-proof cup for your child.
Entertainment Options: Load up on entertainment options such as favorite songs, audiobooks, or child-friendly apps on a tablet. Headphones can be useful to avoid disturbing other passengers.
Be Flexible: Understand that unexpected situations may arise. Be flexible and go with the flow to minimize stress for both you and your child. Remember, children pick up on your moods.
Safety First: If traveling by car, ensure your child's car seat is properly installed and meets safety standards. When flying, check with the airline for specific regulations regarding child car seats and strollers.
Communicate Expectations: Talk to your child about the journey and what to expect. Reassure them and answer any questions they may have.
Safe travels and happy holidays! If you have any specific concerns or questions, feel free to reach out to us. We wish you a wonderful and joy-filled holiday season!
