Happy Friday!
We started the week with a storm ⛈️ and ended it with a sunshiny day. ☀️ Thank you for encouraging your students to value learning every day by coming to school, rain or shine.
Thank you to all the parents for driving safely and protecting our pedestrians. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
Next week, we are expecting extreme heat. Please send plenty of water and dress them appropriately.
A child's greatest teachers are their parents and adults in their lives. They love the attention and time they receive from you. Continue to have dialogue with them and share with them your family values. Join school parent involvement opportunities (such as SSC below on the newsletter). Stay connected with your children and tell them what they can do to be principled, which is the IB Learner Profile we have been celebrating this month. Please watch the read aloud video below with your child and discuss the book with them.
Have a great weekend~

More Important Information about Drop Off/Pick Up
Drop Off/Loading Zone:
- Do not come earlier than 7:40AM. Let's keep our children safe by not arriving before the student supervisors.
- Please allow your children to get out of the car, once they are in any part of the loading zone. They do not need to wait for anyone to open the door for them. Younger children can wait until they get closer to the front of the school.
- Have your child ready by making sure that they have everything ready to exit on the right side. (Back pack should not be in the trunk)
- Parents, Stay in your car; let's teach our children to be independent.
Pick Up:(Please, remain in your cars.)
Drive thru the valet line & display the name paper, (will be provided first week).
Be Patient, Smile, & wave
Las Positas has legal traffic parameters during school hours. Please take a look at this map and only drive in from the Sandlewood Ave. side. Do not arrive earlier than 10 minutes and do not block traffic.
First few weeks of school will take longer than usual. Once everyone gets into the pattern of things, it will get better. Please, model being patient and kind.
Walkers
- We encourage 3rd - 5th grade families (w/o little siblings) to join the walker line and meet them up by the stop sign (Sandlewood/Almondwood). Staff members will walk them up and supervise them.
Siblings at Imperial Middle School (IMS):
We have a table where students with siblings at IMS will be waiting.
If the IMS sibling is walking home, they must have a Walking Home with Older Sibling Permission Form, click here.
