Lil Cyclone Family Newsletter

Hello Dwight families!

Over the past month, we have focused on teaching our students how to be committed to their learning. We have talked about the importance of learning and how learning makes a difference now and for the rest of our lives. Being committed to our learning at Dwight Elementary means giving our best effort no matter where we are or what we are doing, not giving up when something becomes hard, listening to the teachers, asking questions when we don't understand, and doing our work. Rewards are given randomly for students who are "caught" showing commitment to learning. Encourage your child to come to school each day ready to commit to their learning!

We will wrap up the end of our first semester in just a couple of weeks! Our last day for the semester is December 20th. We will have class parties on this day at 1:00 for all grades and classes. Parents and guardians are invited to attend! Our Christmas break begins Wednesday December 21st. Students return to school for the start of our second semester on Wednesday January 4th.

Each month, the RISE team produces a newsletter to explore and promote the Science of Reading in Arkansas. Within the newsletter, there are lots of resources that you will find helpful as you help your child grow on their reading journey!

Students have been practicing their cup stacking abilities! Many students have loved cup stacking so much, they have asked Coach Mo about where to get their own set of Speed Stacks. Explore the website linked below to see if this is an activity you would encourage your Lil' Cyclone to continue practicing and playing at home!

The website is not just for shopping. There are sooooo many resources to coach your kids along the way!

Take advantage of this if you or someone you know needs help!
