BHS Updates
As of Wednesday, March 3rd, masks were made optional for students and staff at Brockport High School. While this change has come with relief and celebration for many, for some this change may come with anxiety and trepidation. We are committed to respecting and honoring everyone’s choice, and our students have been reminded that everyone at BHS should be treated with respect, kindness, and without judgement. Anything else would not be consistent with the character traits we value at Brockport High School. For those who would like them, we have KN-95 masks available for both students and staff in the main office.
We have successfully transitioned all lunches back to the cafeteria at BHS. No lunches are scheduled in the north gym. I want to thank our PE department for their flexibility and understanding as we used their instructional space to meet the social distancing needs of the time, and I want to thank our amazing custodial staff not only for their maintenance of multiple lunch spaces over the last 6 months, but for their quick restoration of our cafeteria to its traditional set up. If any student would like to maintain 6’ of social distancing while eating, the LGI will serve as an alternative location for all lunches.
Last week, an assembly was held for each grade level during advisement to introduce our students to the new Student Support Partner Team. We are excited for their first day, Monday March 7th, and for all this team brings to BHS. You can access a brief biography for each of our hired team members here. Please note, we continue to hire for new members for this position and may have additional members starting as early as this week.
March 11th will mark the end of the Quarter 3 Interim Marking Period. Students are encouraged to get a pre-signed pass to see their teachers for academic support and to turn in any assignments needed.
