March 2022
Fine Arts Month
There was a special presentation at the school board meeting today and it was fantastic!
We gathered information about your student shows, competitions, performances, awards, presentations, accolades as well as many photos. With all of that information, we put together a power point and slide show that Tom Viking presented to the board this morning. To conclude the fine arts presentation, Isabel Ramos a sophomore from SLHS, performed an unbelievably moving song called “The Glamorous Life,” music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Her voice was so beautiful. It was the perfect way to end our section of the board meeting.
If you would like to see the power point and slide show that we put together for this board meeting, click HERE.
The board meetings are recorded and streamed live on YouTube. You can probably find that recording and watch Isabel's performance on YouTube.

Elementary Art Room Hack
This month we have a few hacks to help control the amount of glue the students use.
1) You can purchase small bottles with brushes in the lids and fill them with the liquid glue. Students use the brush to apply a small amount of glue where they need.
2) You can teach students how to control the amount of glue coming from the bottles by using "worksheets" for them to trace the lines with the glue.
3) You can use sponges and plastic containers with airtight lids for the students to dab their paper on to get a small amount of glue where they need it.
Student Artwork on the Padlet
We have an Elementary Visual Art Display and a Secondary Visual Art Display on our Fine Arts Website to show off the amazing artwork that our students were doing. We would love to continue to display your students artwork on this platform.
If you would like to have your students artwork on our district wide Padlet:
- take photos of your best student artwork
- email the photos to Michele Christy <mchristy@pasco.k12.fl.us>.
- include the students first name and grade
We will put all the photos you send on our Padlet and rotate the best of the best onto the website page. You can send one photo at a time or multiple photos. What ever is easier for you.
We cannot wait to see all the amazing things your students are and will be creating! We would love to represent EVERY school on this Padlet.
