Hana One Q K League 1 2023 season is also entering its final race. K League 1 will have its 33rd round split decider on the 8th at 3 p.m. Out of a total of 12 teams, the top 6 teams will be divided into Final A, and the bottom 6 teams will be divided into Final B, and will play the final 5 games.
The top three teams in Final A qualify for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL). On the other hand, the bottom three teams in Final B are harsh. First, 10th and 11th places will compete for survival against K League 2 teams through the K League promotion playoffs. In particular, direct relegation awaits 12th place.
If you look at the 33-round matches, they are all desperate. Leader Ulsan Hyundai (66 points) meets Incheon United at home. Leader Ulsan is also in a hurry, but the team that is even more urgent is Incheon. Incheon is competing fiercely for Final A with FC Seoul playing at the Seoul World Cup Stadium at the same time, and Daegu FC facing Jeonbuk Hyundai and Suwon FC at home
Daegu FC, located in 4th place, has 48 points, Seoul and Incheon have 47 points, and Jeonbuk has 46 points, so there is a high probability that the division will depend on the results of the 33rd round match. Considering that more than just the right to advance to the ACL is at stake, they are all desperate to advance to Final A, so it is likely that they will go all out.
In addition, 12th place Suwon Samsung (22 points), who will play at home against 2nd place Pohang Steelers (58 points), is also desperate. In order to avoid being at the bottom and suffering direct relegation, the gap with 11th place Gangwon FC (26 points) must be narrowed. Gangwon must take on Gwangju FC (51 points).
Literally, a round with plenty to see for K-League fans. Here is some small but good news. All six games of the 33rd round will be broadcast live on TV simultaneously. There was a hidden effort by the Federation here. The federation has secured its own channels and collaborated with several broadcasters to provide stable broadcasting rights for K-League fans.
In fact, in this simultaneous live broadcast, the channel that mainly broadcasts K League 2 is also supporting simultaneous live broadcast of the 33rd round. Until the 8th, it was not easy to secure a channel due to the Asian Games, which inevitably attracted national attention.
Even under these circumstances, it is clearly meaningful that six games are being broadcast live simultaneously for the first time since the introduction of the split system in 2012. The federation's efforts to broadcast live simultaneously even under difficult circumstances have paid off.
Lee Jong-kwon, head of the league's marketing department, gave meaning to the simultaneous broadcast of the 33rd round of K League 1, saying, "Because this round, 6 games kick off at the same time, K League 2 broadcast channels also joined in to help ensure that all games were broadcast live."
