Each year MHS SAG (Student Activities Government) collects donations for Food for Families. These donations are taken to KWTX in Waco and are provided to pantries in our area. This important event not only provides food to families in need, but it also provides a wonderful lesson on generosity and sharing for our students.

This year, the class who collects the most items on each campus will receive a pizza party, and the 2nd place winner for each campus will win an ice cream party.

Donations can be sent with students to school or dropped off on either campus. The last day for collections is Thursday, November 18th.

MISD's Veterans Day program took place Thursday, November 11, at 9am in the high school gym. Mart High School SAG organized the program. 9th grade student Faith Hall performed the National Anthem. 6th grade students Lexi Sheffield, Sophie Stone, DeMorris Rhodes, and Ayden Lauderdale recited the pledge. 6th grade students Jace Rowe and Octavious Gillaspy presented the American and Texas flags. 12th grade FCA student Nakia Vincent led the prayer. 12th grade student Ashley Galloway read the History of Veterans Day and 12th grade student Zohlan Alfaro did the closing. Mr. Aupied played TAPS. It was a wonderful program, and we appreciate all of the Veterans who attended. We also thank them all for their selfless service to our country.

Another highlight of the week included a Veterans day lesson in Mrs. Muir's 1st grade classroom where students tried on Veteran Cody Muir's fatigues.

TSI Testing:

The TSI test will be offered monthly beginning in September

If this is the students first attempt the test is free, if the student is retesting each test will cost $6.
