Take Responsibility, Always Growing, Better Together
October 28, 2022
A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
We had an exciting time today at Jerome. Started off the day seeing everyone's costumes...we even has a Wedding in the Guidance Department. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Bauer ; )
We also had the Grand Opening of our new coffee shop, The Knot! Ms. Shryock's marketing students organized and planned celebration and events for our student body including Instagram.
There were lots of students and staff having fun and smiling around the building today. It is so much fun building community together. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
Better Together,
Mike
Weekly Schedule
Senior Photo Day #2: Friday, Nov. 4
All Jerome Seniors are asked to take a photo for the yearbook. This allows us to have consistency in the yearbook.
- This is a headshot and should be treated as a more formal photo.
- This is the photo that will be used for the Senior Class.
- All students (Emerald, CCP, Tolles) should plan on coming to Jerome to have this photo taken.
- Our final session will be Friday, January 20th. The photo sessions begin at 7:45am.
- Please see the image below for more details.
Attendance and Tardy Reminders
As we move into the 2nd quarter here are some important reminders about attendance and tardies:
- Tardies reset each quarter for students. However, they accumulate faster in the 2nd quarter so please remind them to be here at 7:50. Class begins at 7:55. After a third tardy, a detention is issued.
- Please email Attendance if your child will be absent. This will ensure that we have accounted for the absence. This also creates a digital record which we are required to maintain. As state earlier in the year missing just 18 days of school can have a negative impact on student achievement.
If you need assistance, please let us know and we will be happy to help.
Thanks,
Mike
The Knot Coffee Shop
We had a great soft opening this week! We will be open in earnest next week! Looking forward to sharing the wonderful Crimson Cup drinks with our students! Scan the QR Code for the menu!
Apple Pay and Credit Card accepted.
Construction Update (10.28.22)
- Furniture Order being finalized and ordering on the horizon.
- Enclosure of both A/C will occur over the next two weeks with temporary heating will be in place by Nov. 1.
- Planning and timelines for interior renovations continues!
SEMESTER 1 EXAMS (Dec. 13-16)
Below is the link to our First Semester Exam Schedule for Dec. 13-16. Semester Exam account for 10% of the overall grade for students for the semester. These are important summative assessments that allow students to demonstrate learning.
Students are expected to take their exam during the scheduled times. Students are not permitted to move exams without prior administrative approval. (Please see pg. 17 of Student Handbook for specific details.)
Families that have planned to leave early for a trip must contact the Attendance Office to complete a pre-arranged absence form prior to exam week. Any student missing an exam will complete their exams when they return. All exams that need to be rescheduled will need prior administrative approval.
Please contact the appropriate administrator, school counselor or attendance if you have specific questions. We have asked teachers that receive emails from families forward to attendance. This process ensures that all parties are communicated with to make appropriate changes.

VETERAN'S DAY DONATION DRIVE
Our military veterans are facing unprecedented challenges as a result of their service to our nation. Their dedication to protecting our freedoms cannot be overlooked, especially upon returning home. We must watch out for them and itβs time to take action. Itβs the very least we can do.
Dublin Jerome is collecting items to honor Veterans for Veteran's Day. The Veteran's Day Donation Drive will last until November 11th, and the box for donations is at the front of the building near the main office.
