Letter from your Principal
Dear Santa Rita Families,
December is my favorite time of year. I love all the excitement and happiness that comes from being with friends and family, the lights on houses at night as I walk my dog and the joy of giving. As I have said many times, I love our community and how many people want to reach out and help others. Here are three ways to do just that this season.
#GivingTuesday
Giving Tuesday: This year Giving Tuesday at Santa Rita is Giving Week! From now until December 7th we will be asking families to help support our Bobcat Family by donating to the PTA to provide all the ways that they support us. Last year, our Giving Tuesday Challenge goal was $10,000 and we did it! This year we are once again setting $10,000 as our goal to raise over the next 7 days!
If we raise $10,000 by next Tuesday, December 7th, Mrs. Rafferty will take a pie in her face from the teacher whose class has the highest total donations!

Sharing your holiday joy with our Bobcat families:
In this joyful season of Thanksgiving and Christmas, let's remember some of our Bobcat families who are having a difficult time in the pandemic due to loss of jobs, reduction of working hours, health bills, and higher expenses driven by inflation. Please donate to our GoFundMe account or drop off your Target or Walmart gift cards at the office. We will use the funds to purchase gift cards for the families. Thank you for your generosity.
Computer Collection:
My name is Ayaan and I am a 6th grader at Santa Rita. I hope you are doing well and had a great Thanksgiving. My brother and I have been collecting computers to donate to students in need. Last year, we were able to collect 5 computers and donated them to AJ Dorsa Elementary in San Jose. Our goal is to collect 15 computers to donate this year. We would not be able to do this without the support of people just like you. If you know anyone with spare computers in working condition, we can arrange pickup. If you would like to donate computers or money, learn more here. Even if you are not able to donate, you can help us by checking out our Facebook and Nextdoor accounts and sharing with friends and family. If you would like to contact us, you can email us at yuvahelpinfo@gmail.com. Thank you!
Stay Bobcat Strong!
Mrs. Kelly Rafferty

GIVING TUESDAY CHALLENGE!
In 2012, Giving Tuesday was created as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. One of the best ways to get involved is to give directly to our own school community -- ensuring your generous gift stays right here at Santa Rita to help fund programs and equipment for your own student(s) and their classmates.
Did you know that Santa Rita PTA provides 100% of the funding for all music and art programs, STEM, classroom computers and technology, school supplies, library books, playground equipment, and many more enriching programs?
If we raise $10,000 by next Tuesday, December 7th, Principal Rafferty will take a pie in her face!
Donations to Santa Rita PTA can be made by:
- Paypal at santaritapta@gmail.com
- Online here https://santaritapta.formst...
- Dropping a check made out to Santa Rita PTA in the front office.
Don’t forget! Santa Rita PTA is a 501(C)3 non-profit and as such, all donations are tax-deductible and eligible for corporate matching! Our PTA’s Federal Tax ID number is 94-6174402.
SUPPORT SANTA RITA WHILE YOU SHOP ON AMAZON!
Every time you shop on Amazon you can be giving back to Santa Rita! Simply make your Amazon purchases through @amazonsmile and a portion of EVERY SALE will be donated to the Santa Rita PTA (at no cost to you)! https://smile.amazon.com/ch/94-6174402
