Sunday Message
Week of August 29, 2022
Message from Mrs. Reams
Randolph Families,
Thank you for a wonderful first week back! We appreciate the continued partnership with our families. We hope the kids, although tired, had great things to report each day!
Week at a Glance:
- This week we begin fall growth assessments for grades third, fourth and fifth.
- 4th graders will have an opportunity to apply to be a "House Leader" (applications are due Friday)! Teachers will review everything with interested students tomorrow.
- Summer reading forms due on Friday, September 2nd.
Important Information:
We were fortunate to have a GCPS bus parked at RES for most of the week. Each teacher reviewed bus rules and safety reminders with their class, encore teachers reviewed again at the end of the week, and myself, the counselors and encore teachers, had an overall code of conduct review with all grade levels. Please remind students about bus rules and expectations. If they are consistently unable to follow them, they will be removed from the bus. Thank you so much for helping all of our kids have a safe ride to and from school!
Car arrival before 2:15pm makes it impossible for any early dismissal and delivery drivers to access our parking lot. Please help us this year by not arriving before then. Car dismissal has gone very smoothly for the first week. We have had a clear lot by 2:45pm!
If there is an error in your child's name please complete this form: https://forms.gle/KnXfJJC9j4b1rBkN7
If you need additional tags, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/q8U6heVT1sbM9zLs9
(PLEASE FILL OUT BOTH IF YOU NEED BOTH - THANK YOU!)
We will have car tags out to families who have filled out this form by the end of this week!
Our RES "TOP 10" list for 22-23 is attached below, along with our updated safety measures for the 22-23 school year. Both of these documents are in English and Spanish. Students will also bring home copies of these to hang on your refrigerators for easy reference!
As we get into the swing of things, be sure to always reach out with questions. Please feel free to email me directly at mreams@glnd.k12.va.us. If you need to call, please know that I am typically not in my office. I try to be out in the school with students and teachers as much as possible, so please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
Let's make is a great week,

Randolph Families,
Our current Fever/COVID policy:
- If your child develops a fever, we recommend that they be seen by a physician and/or perform a COVID test. All students and staff must be 24 hours fever-free without the use of fever reducing medications before returning to school.
- If your child tests positive for COVID, they will need to isolate for 5 days from either the onset of symptoms or the positive test (whichever came first). We then recommend that they wear a well fitting mask for an additional 5 days. We are no longer requiring quarantines for those exposed.
Please reach out to me with any questions that you may have,
Heather Usry, RN
