06/10/2023 - Edition 4

Highlights of the Week
It was so exciting to see our hallways buzzing with over 200 families at the recent Open Evening. The energy was electric and the sense of community, truly palpable. A huge thank you to our exceptional student ambassadors and our dedicated staff who made the evening a standout success.
We're keeping the momentum going with fully booked Open Mornings today and Monday and our unique Super Saturday event tomorrow. The enthusiasm from everyone involved speaks volumes, and I couldn't be prouder of how we've showcased the heart and soul of Twickenham School.
We celebrated our wonderful teachers on World Teachers’ Day this week & if you’d like to drop any teacher an encouraging message, then please do so at info@twickenhamschool.org.uk - don’t forget to mention the teachers name in the subject line and we will pass the message on to them. Your messages and recognition really do mean a lot!
Science Award: Huge congratulations to Zoe Barter in Year 8. She not only engaged in four lectures but also clinched victories in the Lego Dragster Build Race and Egg Drop Challenge. All this hard work won her the Brookland Science Project Award, presented by Professor Brian Cox last Tuesday. Well done Zoe!
Uniform Notice: Thank you to all families for your support with our uniform standards, nearly all students are perfectly dressed and looking smart, professional and ready for learning and representing themselves and the school wonderfully,
Just a reminder - areas that are receiving specific scrutiny include:
Blazers: Mandatory when indoors within the school premises.
Hair Colour: Must be a natural colour.
Jewellery: Strictly limited as per our policy.
Skirt Length: Must adhere to the guidelines set forth in our policy.
Our uniform policy remains consistent and can be accessed on our website for your reference: Twickenham School Uniform Policy and School Days and Just Dancing in Whitton are fully stocked with our uniform.
The uniform serves three key purposes, encapsulated in the '3 Ps':
Parity: Our uniform aims to create an equitable environment, fostering social justice and equality.
Professionalism: The uniform is a preparatory step towards future workplaces where professional dress will be a requirement.
Policy: This is an agreement we have all committed to; please consult our policy for full details.
Parking Plea – Please could we ask for parents not to wait or park in the staff car park whilst dropping off or picking up students. This causes delays for our teachers who are trying to make a productive start to the day teaching your children.
Teddington Hockey Club - Twickenham School is committed to nurturing active lifestyles and a love for sports, both inside and outside school. We're pleased to announce a fantastic opportunity in collaboration with Teddington Hockey Club. Weekly training sessions will be held every Thursday from 5 pm to 6 pm at Teddington School. This is a wonderful chance for our students to explore the exciting world of hockey and benefit from expert coaching. To get involved, please reach out to Neil Guilder, the Director of Hockey, at thccoaching@gmail.com
Young Writers’ Festival Competition- Arts Richmond 2023
