Dear SAC Families,

As it may be on all of our minds, I want to reassure you that SAC will operate come August/back to school. Our school is actively working to develop plans and protocols for all possible scenarios to return to school in the building in August. We will be following all guidance from the CDC and the State of IL. Just as our Governor and the Dept of Education decided to close all schools in the state, they will decide when to reopen and how they will operate.

At this current time, the IL Governor Pritzker signed an executive order last week announcing we are in Phase 3 which means that school classrooms have a capacity of 10 people. Once we enter Phase 4 (which is hoped to be before August), the capacity will be at 50 people per room, which means that we will have normal face-to-face school.

However, if we do not enter Phase 4 before the first day of school (Aug17), we have two possible scenarios:

1. Whole-school eLearning (as we did during quarantine)

2. Whole-school hybrid learning (splitting between some students in-school/at-home will varying schedules)

If you have questions or concerns please feel free to ask us. We can also set up a virtual meeting to discuss any concerns you may have.

We are delighted to share SAC's Virtual Summer Program 2020. Please see the flyer attached, and visit the catalog linked to the flier below that details all classes offered, dates, times, teachers, and registration/fee information.

Registration is open and is first come/ first serve. Jun.14th is the last day for registration. Be sure to lock in your child's spot! You will receive a payment link after completing the registration form. This program is open to SAC & Non-SAC students.

SAC is looking ahead while tackling the present. Take a moment to visit our Virtual Open Houses on Thursday evenings.

Right now, we are waiving application fees for the 2020-2021 school year to those that attend one of our virtual open house, so come visit us virtually and learn more!

Although we know that while these days are uncertain, commitment to your child's education is not.

Graduation ceremonies are one of the most significant events of every school. Our school successfully hosted the 2020 Virtual Graduation Ceremonies during quarantine for our Kindergarten and 8th Graders which will bring our graduates positive memories!

This was the first virtual graduation experience in SAC’s history, and it was filled with beautiful slideshows of memories, a surprise guest of honor, incredible student performances, and good-luck messages from teachers!

Our eLearning provided all classes online in virtual classrooms Monday-Friday 9am-2pm which also included specials (art, music, Spanish, PE) classes worked into the schedule as well.

Spirit Week was the last week of eLearning which was full of different kinds of fun activities.

As a tradition, the last week of the school includes FIELD DAY! On May 22, our students participated in virtual field day by doing all the stations at home with their families.

We are currently offering virtual school tours. In addition to our public virtual open houses, parents can request a private virtual tour with one of our administrators. Once our building re-opens, in-person school tours will resume. All tours are private, allowing us to personalize the visit to your individual needs. During a tour, you will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, speak with teachers, and see students across multiple grade levels engaged in differentiated learning activities.

SAC's last weekly Facebook Bedtime Story was read by Ms. Cynthia and Roscoe. They read 'Froggy Plays Soccer.'

During quarantine, SAC teachers and guests hosted weekly bed time stories virtually through SAC's Facebook LIVE.

Research shows that bedtime stories are extremely beneficial. Children will find sleep coming in a peaceful way with a great story in their ears. It engages their imagination while giving them good dream material and has been shown to calm down a busy child. A nice story puts their fears to rest and allows them much-needed relaxation.
