If you are a Pilates instructor or personal trainer, NKT® can be used as an assessment technique. Understanding the causes of dysfunctional movement allows you to help your clients use the equipment in a more effective way.
What is NeuroKinetic Therapy®?
NeuroKinetic Therapy® corrective movement system is a sophisticated assessment and treatment modality that addresses the causes of dysfunctional movement and coordination problems at their root, which lies in the motor control center (MCC) of the brain. The MCC stores movement patterns and directs their completion through the spinal cord and the muscles. Understanding that the MCC learns through failure, the NeuroKinetic Therapy system of test-release-retest can reprogram and correct these dysfunctional movement patterns. This is an essential component of rehabilitative therapy.
What Will I Get Out of These Seminars?
You will learn the basics of motor control theory and the NeuroKinetic Therapy® system’s protocol. Manual muscle testing will be demonstrated for each segment of the body. How to recognize compensation patterns, whether they are from reciprocal inhibition or a dysfunction in a kinetic chain, will comprise much of the classroom theory. There is sufficient time for hands on practice.
