E.O. Green Hornet Hive Updates
Green JHS Weekly Bulletin for September 20th, 2021
Principal's Message
Good morning EO Green Families,
We need your support to ensure your student brings the textbooks to school tomorrow, Monday, September 20, and Tuesday 21, 2021. We are hosting the Williams Audit and your student needs to have all the textbooks assigned to him/her. Thank you for reminding your child about it.
Our GREEN staff appreciates that you're teaching your child to be responsible and respectful. Arriving at school on time and submitting work on time develops responsibility. Following classroom and schoolwide behavior expectations support the growth of a respectful trait. Please, continue talking about these character qualities that will help your child's academic and social-emotional development. Support your student to arrive at school on time; ensure that your student follows a healthy sleeping pattern, goes to bed on time and comes on campus before 7:55 am. The first bell rings at 7:57 am. As you have noticed, the school community is undergoing road repairs, so allow extra time for your morning commute to GREEN JHS.
All students have the potential to accomplish academic success in every subject. Please encourage your students to talk to their teacher if they have questions about the assignments, projects and quizzes/tests. Our responsible HORNET students try their best and turn in all tasks/projects.
Please be aware that tardiness and unexcused absences count against your child's attendance record. We know these are difficult times, so let us know how to provide support to avoid SARB consequences (School Attendance Review Boards). California compulsory education law requires everyone between the ages of six and eighteen to attend school.
Finally, there are two COVID-19 testing locations:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: Blackstock Junior High School, 701 E. Bard Road Tuesdays and Thursdays: Haycox Elementary School, 5400 Perkins Road Testing hours will be 10:00-4:00 at each location. Both testing sites will be walk-up only, no appointments necessary.
Reach out to your child's counselor or admin team if support is needed. We are here for you!
Attentively,
Mrs. Melgoza-Vasquez
Principal
