AP Exams & STAAR
**ALL STAFF**: Ensure you have thoroughly read through ALL testing plans to ensure you know your roles, responsibilities, students, room number, displacements, and agendas you are needed for that testing day.
BEFORE TESTING
Room Preparation
- If your classroom is used for an exam, you own the room preparation:
- Ensure you have the right amount of desks and chairs in your classroom.
- Desks are 3 feet apart
- Clear boards
- Verify you have a working clock.
- Content related posters (for specific exam) must be covered during testing.
Dress Code
Any testing staff can wear jeans with an IDEA or college shirt with comfy shoes that won't make noise.
Lunch
Be prepared to BYOL (bring your own lunch). Lunch will not be provided for semester exams.
ON TESTING DAY
Expectations on Testing Days
- Maintaining security of test materials until returned to the coordinator.
- Preparing and distributing test materials in the classroom for each administration.
- Implementing the test administration processes and procedures stated in the manuals.
- Actively monitoring and maintaining test security.
- Reporting any suspected violation of test security to the campus coordinator.
- Completing all required forms, Test-hound and ones specific to the test.
- Preparing test materials for return to the campus coordinator at the conclusion of test administrations.
- Proctors may not assist students with any questions.
- Never leave the classroom or testing materials unattended.
- When you call STOP during a test, students must immediately put their pencils down. They cannot bubble in after stop has been called. Call an administrator if a student continues bubbling.
- Students MAY NOT go back to earlier sections of the test, even just to fill in answer bubbles. If this is observed, call an hallway monitor/admin and take away the test immediately.
- Students can go to the restroom during testing, but they cannot make up lost time. Collect test booklets and answer documents from students who go to the restroom. Return them when the student is readmitted to the room.
Hallway Monitors & Restroom Expectations on Testing Days
- NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES AS HALLWAY/RESTROOM MONITORS.
- Assist with relieving proctors and actively monitor scholars testing.
- Hall monitors are responsible for setting up a desk and chair in their designated area.
- Walk your portion of the hallway to check testing rooms and make sure no one needs assistance.
- Only allow one to two students in the bathroom at a time.
- Students must wait in line outside the bathroom, they should not talk while they are waiting.
DURING TESTING DAY
Attendance
Please pay special attention to our Attendance Procedures. I want to ensure rosters are clean and accurate when they are delivered to Julissa.
- Attendance at 8:10 AM & 9:30 AM
- Verify total number of students absent
- Date and Signature of proctor
Late Students
- Hall monitors actively look for students coming in late and retrieve their cellphones before they go into their classroom and notify TC student is present.
- Late students who are taking the semester exam may enter the classroom, but can not make up for lost time.
AFTER TESTING
Make Up
- Students who are absent for STAAR exams will have a set makeup date based on testing window.
Hall/Restroom Monitor Expectations
If you have been assigned as a hall monitor or restroom monitor, please take some time to review testing day expectations.
Displacement Room
- N. Cabrales will be displaced 4th - 7th period (Displacement Schedule attached)
- C. Wilcox will be displaced 4th - 7th period (Displacement Schedule on testing plan)
- A. Garcia will have coverage 2nd - 4th (Coverage Schedule on testing plan)
- M. Medina & C. Wilcox will have coverage 4th, 6th, & 7th period. (Coverage Schedule on testing plan)
- T. DAdamo 4th period class report to 239.
Displacement
All 10th graders not testing report to RTTC Lab.
