The JCHS PTSA will be offering $500 scholarships to two (2) JCHS graduating seniors this school year. Instructions and application can be found at http://bit.ly/JCPTSAScholarship.

Application Deadline is March 30, 2023 by 3:30pm to the JCHS Guidance Office. The application form, essay, JCHS PTSA membership, and two (2) high school teacher recommendations must all be submitted prior to the deadline for consideration.

Dr. D will be playing in the 1st Annual Charity Classic Softball Game at Toyota Field on April 15th! This event is hosted by The Enrichment Center and will work to spread awareness and support for youth mental health services.Thanks to support from the community and partnerships with local schools, The Enrichment Center is able to provide mental health therapy sessions at no cost to students or their families! • We are accepting applications for spring testing for the Seal of Biliteracy from February 21st-March 3rd by noon. Please CLICK HERE to find the application. Please see Ms. Shratter in C220 if you have questions.
  
• Health Science Internship Applications for 2023-2024 school year are available for pick up from Mrs. Collins &/or Ms. Steinert in C126 or D122. Completed applications MUST be turned back in by March 3, 2023
  
• The competition cheerleading team is having tryouts March 22, 23, and 24th. There is an Interest Meeting in the Harvard room next Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 for any new or returning athletes. This meeting will address questions about tryouts and the upcoming season. Parents are encouraged to come as well. Mandatory tryout packets are due on March 7th and you can pick them in Coach Stockman's Room, A205.
  
• The cafeteria is currently having a peanut butter donation competition. Please bring any peanut butter to the cafeteria to help out the local Alabama food bank.
  
• If you are an upcoming junior or senior and interested in working in our in-school Redstone Federal Credit Union branch, please see Dr. Shears in room B113 during 1st or 2nd block or in the branch during Refuel.
  
• JCTheatre is holding auditions for upper level classes in the 23-24 school year. Information is outside F148, on monitors, and JCTheatre social media. Prepare a one minute monologue and submit your audition video by Monday, March 6. Please note that auditions are ONLY to skip into upper level classes or Advanced Production. Auditions are NOT required for technical theatre or Beginning Drama.
• Girls State is scheduled this summer, June 4-9th, at Troy State University, and applications are in. If interested, please pick your application up today in the counseling department. All applications are due to Mrs. Smith by March 24, 2023. If selected, you will be notified in April.
  
• Prom is on April 1, 2023, at the Space & Rocket Center from 8 pm-11 pm. Tickets are available online through the E-payment portal and in the building on designated days. Details are available in the Landing, outside the Media Center, and H103.

• Students cannot be dropped off or picked up at the front circle of the school. Please follow the instructions to carline at the auditorium side of the building. This is for the safety of our students and to help the flow of traffic. We appreciate your cooperation!
  
• Students checking in or who arrive at school after the start of the school day, should ONLY enter the building from the front entrance and go through the attendance office.
  
• Students are allowed 5 parent notes PER semester. If your student is out of parent notes then any tardy or absence will be unexcused without a doctor's excuse. You can monitor your students attendance in PowerSchool as well.
