Corona High School - A Tradition of Excellence Since 1896
Greetings, Panther Nation!
We are two weeks into our CAASPP/SBAC testing season and If your student is testing, please ensure they have a good night's rest and a healthy breakfast to help them stay focused.(see below for more info regarding testing). We are also wrapping up our regular season for our spring sports and are expecting to see some continue onto he post-season. As we continue to inch closer to graduation, we are busier than ever with teaching and learning to promote our students' success. Let's help our students hang in there for a few more weeks by continuing to encourage them! RAWR!
Happy Easter!

- First, students may qualify for a potential grade bump in ELA and/or math, depending on their passing score (it varies for AP courses). Although the grade bump won't take effect until next school year when we receive the official results, it will reflect on this year's grades/GPA. Essentially, a D can become a C, a C becomes a B, and a B becomes and A. Please reach out to your student's ELA/math teacher for further clarification.
- Second, students can potentially demonstrate that they are ready for college-level ELA and math courses. Our state has eliminated remedial ELA and math classes at the college level (community and university) and instead will require students to concurrently enroll in an additional support class if they have not demonstrated they are "college ready."
The bottom line is that these tests can have a personal impact on our students and we want them all to take this seriously. Please ensure that your child gets plenty of rest the night before his/her test date and and nutritious breakfast. Should you have any questions about this or any other school-related issue, feel free to reach out to our front office.

Spring Sports
- Baseball: On Tuesday, April 16th our Panthers earned another thrilling come-from-behind victory over the Sharks. We were down 0-5 in the 6th inning but rallied back and won 6-5 in extra innings. The two teams met again on April 18th and the we took the victory again with a score of 7-3. We currently hold the tie-breaker for 1st place over Norco High School (see standings below), making for an exciting end to league play given that we play our final two games against Norco.
- Softball: We earned a great league victory over MLK at home with a score of 3-2 on April 16. Unfortunately, that was followed by a loss at home against Santiago on April 18th, our Senior Game.
- Track: We hosted Norco High School on April 17th as our final meet before league pre-lims and finals to be held on April 22nd and 24th, respectively. Our boys got the win over Norco, while the girls fell short of the victory. Farewell and thank you to our seniors who competed in their final home meet.
- Boys Tennis: We hosted Santiago on April 17th as we celebrated Senior Night!
- Boys Volleyball: We hosted Santiago on April 18th as we celebrated Senior Night!
- Swim: On April 13th, our swim team participated in the Chino Hills Invitational. Most of the swimmers swam their personal best times but we had one swimmer who set a new school record! Drew Heaston broke the record set in 2007 in the 200m freestyle with a time of 1:43.78! Our final swim meet before pre-lims was at Norco High School and we swam away witht eh victory. Congratulations to Drew and the rest of our swimmers!
Misc.
- Cheer: On Saturday, April 13th, our Varsity Cheer team competed at the Sharp National Championships and won first place and the Spirit Award! It's great to see their hours of dedication paying off. Way to go, Panthers!
- Signing Day: On National Signing Day (April 17th), we recognized 9 of our student-athletes that have committed to continuing their education at the next level while playing the sport they love. Congrats to our Panthers on this huge accomplishment! See image down below for names and sports.
