Encounter Christ in the Holy Moments
Last Week We Saw Some Incredible Holy Moments!
The Denten family went to the Shrine of Our Lady of Champion. They attended Sunday Mass and prayed with the community as they honored the anniversary of the miracle of the Peshtigo fire!
Thank you for sharing your Holy Moment with us, Denten Family!
ENCOUNTER CHRIST IN HOLY MOMENTS
Take some time as a family to think about "things" that needs to get done at home, like the dishes or the laundry or cleaning up your room. Now, think about how much it would help the people you live with if you completed that task! And remember, some moments are holy. Some moments are unholy. And you decide!
Tips to Create This Holy Moment:
- If you notice a mess, patiently clean it up, even if it’s not yours!
- Ask your family if there’s anything they need help with.
- Invite your children to help you too… for extra Holy Moments!
We want to hear about the amazing ways you and your family are collaborating with God! Email Meghan Gorzalski at mgorzalski@waukeshacatholic.org and tell us about a special Holy Moment you witnessed or created. Let’s keep the Holy Momentum going!

CONFERENCE LOCATION: All conferences will be held at St. Mary Campus. Maps/signage will be available at St. Mary to provide room locations.
MAY WE BRING SMALLER CHILDREN ALONG? We ask that you refrain from bringing little children along since your attention, as well as ours becomes divided and does not serve in the best interest of your children. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Unfortunately, childcare will not be available.
DOES THE STUDENT ATTEND THE CONFERENCE? Students in grades 1-8 are expected to attend the conferences.
Upcoming MAPs Testing for 1st-8th Grade Students
During the weeks of October 16 – November 3, your child will take tests called Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP). We give our students MAP tests two times each school year to determine a child’s instructional level, to assist teachers in differentiating instruction, and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of Reading, Language Arts, and Math. Your child will take the tests on a computer.
MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. And with MAP tests, we can administer shorter tests and use less class time while still receiving detailed, accurate information about your child’s growth. During the next testing period, your child will spend a total of about 2-2.5 hours completing these tests.

Box Tops and Ink Cartridges
Did you know… receipts can be scanned in the Box Tops app up to 14 days after the purchase. Also, if you forget to scan your receipts, set up a reminder notification in the Box Tops app. Look in the Communications setting.
Digital receipts can be emailed to Box Tops as well. Click on the Scan button in the app and select Digital receipt for instructions!
Do you have empty HP or Cannon ink cartridges sitting around? Send them in the Wednesday folder (in a bag, labeled with student’s name and class). We will recycle them and earn money for Waukesha Catholic.

Catholic Schools “Color” Walk
RESCHEDULED: TBD
Sadly, due to the weather, a difficult decision was made this past Saturday morning to cancel our Color Walk. Our Color Walk will be rescheduled for some time in the spring when we can truly enjoy the “colorful” fun in much warmer and drier weather. 😊 Stay tuned for more details.
MS. KOVALESKI AND MR. HEINECKE WILL GET SLIMED!! We reached our $29,000 Slime Challenge Goal, so watch for details on when and where.
So far, Waukesha Catholic has raised just over $30,000! We are currently in THIRD place among the schools participating in the Archdiocese, with Dominican High School in first place at $58,326, followed by Christ King School at $35,931. Can we make it to #1?!
Please help us reach our goal of raising $45,000! Ms. Kovaleski and Mr. Heinecke promise to come up with something extra fun to do to celebrate our school community if we can reach our $45,000 walk goal! This is our only fall fundraiser and a crucial component of our annual budget, supporting essential curriculum updates, faith formation, teacher salaries, facility updates, and more. It is very important that we meet this goal, so please continue to donate. If you have already reached your goal, please consider increasing your goal and continue to ask your family and friends to support Waukesha Catholic.
All donations that are collected through mid-November will qualify for a matching gift donation from the Archdiocese. The more we raise, the more our matching will be, with the potential of our school receiving up to $5,000!!
CLASSROOM PRIZE UPDATE!! We received a lot of online donations since our last Campus Connection, and donations are still trickling in through the mail. We want to be fair in tallying up our classroom totals, so all donations received through the end of this month will count toward classroom totals. Winning classrooms will be announced in the first week of November. It is not too late to help your child’s classroom win an Ice Cream🍦 Party, a Donut 🍩Party, a Popcorn/Movie🎬 Party, or a Pizza🍕 Party! Which classroom will be among our lucky top four?

ATHLETICS
Seton Volunteers Urgently Needed! Did you know that The Seton is our largest athletics fundraiser that raises necessary funds for our athletics program in addition to funding the Waukesha County Catholic Schools Tuition Scholarships and supporting the Foundation for Religious Retirement? The Seton is an 8th grade, invitation-only volleyball tournament that involves 68 teams from all over the Archdiocese (10 counties) playing 156 matches over seven days to crown three champions. The Seton starts Monday, October 23, and we are in need of parents to help with Seton admissions and crowd control (monitoring courts during play), as well as student (or parent) volunteers to help flip score on the courts. Bags Tournament - SAVE THE DATE! The Waukesha Catholic Booster Club will be holding their annual Battle of the Bags Tournament on Saturday, November 11 in the St. William gym. You can complete the entry flyer from last week's school packet or download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14C655xsOphiAOthT4oszewv_8VIRhb5v/view?usp=sharing and return it to the St. Mary's or St. William's Campus Office with the entry fee.
🏀Basketball Splits will take place on Monday, November 6 and Tuesday, November 7 for those teams large enough to divide. Practices for all teams will start that week as well. More details to follow!
Athletics Parking Families attending home games at St. Joe's on Saturdays for volleyball or basketball should park on the street around Martin St., Main St., or in the old Ace Hardware parking lot on the corner of Main and Barstow. On Saturdays the parking lot between the church and old school building should remain clear to allow for church parking (Mass or weddings). We appreciate your help so that the elderly can get into church without climbing stairs.
Athletic Volunteer Needed! Waukesha Catholic Athletics is looking for a Parent Volunteer Coordinator (shadow this year, take over next year). This person would create the SignUpGenius for parent volunteers to work admissions and concessions for our volleyball and basketball games, indoor track meet, and the Seton Volleyball Tournament. Please contact Bill Serb, Athletic Director at 262-896-2929 ext.5210 or email athleticdirector@waukeshacatholic.org if interested.
