Welcome to the Start of the School Year at ALMS!
Dear ALMS Parents and Families,
What a great first whole week of school! We were thrilled to get to know everyone more! A huge thank you to our Student Council and their Advisor, Mrs. Fata, for hosting the wonderful Ice Cream Socials, it was an excellent way to start the year as a community!
Next week will be a busy one. We will be celebrating Start with Hello Week! See below for those details, as each day will have a different mode of dress or activity!
ALMS will also be holding picture days for all three grades. Again, see below for details.
Finally, Meet the Teacher Night is coming up on the 20th. We look forward to welcoming you to our school and experiencing a day in the life of your child's time here at ALMS. During your child's lunch period, please attend the cafeteria to view the Hidden In Plain Sight display sponsored by our Student Assistance Counselor, Ms. Loaiza. Please remind your child to give you their class schedule for the evening. We kindly ask parents to keep students home to minimize the crowd.
Warmest regards,
Camille Edwards-Thomas

Important information regarding our Student Assistance Counselor
Albert Leonard Middle School, along with 51 other secondary schools in Westchester County, is continuing a Student Assistance/Project SUCCESS Program for the 2023-2024 school year. Please see the attached letter (below) for more details.
Start with Hello Week!
Dear ALMS parents,
Next week at ALMS, we are participating in Start With Hello week. Start With Hello brings attention to the growing epidemic of social isolation and empowers young people to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within their school, youth organization, and community.
Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out, lonely, or treated like you are
invisible. Young people who are isolated are more prone to becoming victims of bullying, violence, and depression. As a result, many further pull away and struggle with learning, mental health, and social development.
We can help change this!
For more information, please see the attached flyer. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs.Johnson, cjohnson@nredlearn.org or Mrs.Loaiza, nloaiza@nredlearn.org.

Google Classroom How To - For Parents
For parents who are interested in receiving more information about their child's' Google Classroom work, please see the help article below. You may also view the video (below) for a quick summary of what Google Classroom and the Guardian Summaries look like.
Chromebook Responsibilities
To ALMS Parents and Students,
As a Middle School student, you are required to come to school with your district-provided chromebook charged. The district-provided chromebook is also your responsibility; if it's in your backpack, locker, on a bus, or at home, you must keep it protected from being damaged or lost/stolen.
Please refer to the AUP and Device Loaner Form, which you have signed with your parent/guardian, and review the terms and conditions listed on the form both inside and outside of school. If you have not already signed the AUP and/or Loaner Form, please click on the link above.
To all parents/guardians, please speak with your child regarding Chromebook care and responsibilities. Some of the computers are damaged due to students spilling liquids, tossing them to the ground during recess, getting knocked around in a backpack, or dropping them. Damaged Chromebooks are subject to fees. You may want to consider purchasing a case as was indicated on the school supply list.
You can refer to our Acceptable Use Policy and Device Loaner Form (linked above) for the CSDNR policy.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
