Weekly Update October 29, 2021
Head Cheetah's Message
Dear Families,
Just like that October is gone and November is here! The halls this week were filled with energy and excitement. If your family is celebrating Halloween this weekend, please play close attention to the safety tips in our Nurse Notes below. Today, students celebrated Autumn by dressing in fall foliage colors. We can't wait to have have a comfy day of learning Monday with everyone dressed in Pajamas. Do not forget that there's no school for students on Tuesday. Teachers will be sharpening their skills at professional development that day. Thanks for continued partnership!
Best,
Joey and Andrea

Caring Cheetahs Celebrate FALL!
Physical Education
Hi everybody,
It’s been a great start to the school year with really nice weather and excited children anxious to move and learn!
Our Preschool and Kindergarten students have been continuing to work hard with our classroom expectations of improving their fitness, strength, and flexibility. After finishing up our ball skills (using our feet) unit we have moved into our unit of eye- hand/body activities unit such as using foxtails, throwing and catching balls of different sizes and weights, and various movement/cooperative activities.
Our First, Second, and Third Graders have have also been working hard with our classroom expectations of improving their fitness, strength, and flexibility. After finishing up our ball skills (using our feet) unit we have moved into our lacrosse unit. We have been learning how to throw, catch, pick up ground balls, and cradle, both individually and with a partner. As the children get older we incorporate different technical aspects to help with their success. In the event of rain, we have also played some indoor soccer games with our Grade 2 and 3 students. Our Grade 1 students on rain days have been working on movement activities and cooperative games.
Our 2nd and 3rd Graders are also actively participating in the mile run and Running Club with the Running Club Bulletin Boards outside the gym. Luckily we have not been inside very much with the nice weather so we are enjoying the fresh air and being outside on the fields.
The children have been doing great and improving nicely, they take pride in their accomplishments and improvements, as do we!
Enjoy the fall weather and we hope you get the chance to play as a family and be active outdoors!

Halloween Safety Tips from the school nurse
Halloween is such an exciting time for kids. They love dressing up, going trick or treating and getting candy. Halloween is meant for fun but kids should also stay safe. Here are some helpful tips to enjoy some Halloween fun:
- Make sure costumes are safe, including masks. Any face makeup should be tested out in advance to make sure your child can tolerate it and does not have any allergic reaction. Consider using glow sticks or anything reflective to increase visibility.
- Young children should always go trick or treating with a responsible adult.
- Give your child a healthy meal before trick or treating or parties to discourage filling up on too much candy later.
- When children get home from trick or treating, any candy should be inspected by an adult. Be aware of ingredients and any possible allergies that your child may have. Also, eating too much candy at once can give your child a stomachache or make them nauseous and nobody wants to end their Halloween being sick.
- Make sure your child gets a good nights sleep as there is school the next day! (Pajama day!) A well rested child is needed to fully participate in the school day. If your child is complaining of not feeling well the next morning, please monitor and make sure they are able to make it through the day.
- Have fun!
