Good Morning E.L.M. Families,

Happy Friday! The Friday Family Focus returns for another school year. Please take a read of the newsletter each week, as it will keep you up to date on all things Emma Miller School.

Lunch Menu 8/31: Pizza Bagel, tossed salad, sliced strawberries. Alternate: Toasted Cheese Sandwich. September Lunch/Breakfast menus attached. We will send home paper copies on the first day of school.

* Welcome to Mrs. Kayla Bradbury as our new administrative/teacher assistant. You can reach Ms. Kayla at kbradbury@savoyelementary.com. She will be replacing Miss Anderson in the office and supporting students in the classrooms throughout the day.

* Unfortunately, we have not yet received the Savoy bus route schedule. I will send it as soon as I receive it from the bus company. My apologies for the delay.

* We will be sending our standard "Back to School" packet for parents/guardians on the first day of school. Please complete the forms and Emergency card and return them as soon as possible. Thank you.

* School Committee will meet on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00pm. As always, you are encouraged and welcome to attend. The agenda is attached below.

* We will continue to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students. We recommend sending in a snack and drink for morning snack time. The menus are attached and a copy will be sent home on the first day of school.

* The school year calendar is attached below. Please note that we will be asking the school committee to adjust the calendar to include January 2nd as a day off. The change is noted on this calendar in anticipation of their approval.

* The After Care Program will begin on the first day of school and Mrs. Harrison will again be leading the program. Registration packets will be sent on the first day of school to those families that responded to the survey back in early August. The cost of the program will be increasing to $12.00 per day, per student, with no additional discounts unless you register more than one child for a full week. This weekly discount for more than one student will be 10%. Half day rates will also be $25.00 per student, with no additional discount. Payments for the first week of school and the following week will be due on Friday, September 2nd, and then every Friday thereafter. Please send a note with your child if they will be attending the program on the first day. Thank you.

Planning Ahead:

* E.L.M. Open House/Ice Cream Social will take place on Thursday, Sept. 8th at 6:00pm.

A Note from Nurse Jacquelyn:

Great news...Nurse Jacquelyn will now be with us full time this year!

* Health forms will be sent home on the first day of school. Please complete and return them as soon as possible.

* Medications can be dropped off on the first day of school. Parents/Guardians will need to sign a medication form in order for us to accept the medication.

* Our COVID protocols have changed slightly for the return to school. We will be sending the new protocols to all families in the school packets. Masking will remain optional with the exception of those who have tested positive and are within the ten day window.
