BIDDEFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
October 13, 2021
Good Afternoon Parents & Guardians,
The safe care of our children will continue to be our first priority here at Biddeford Middle School. We have successfully completed several fire/evacuation drills and have had our evacuation process evaluated by the Biddeford Fire Department. Our next focus will be on “lockdown” and “lockout” procedures which you will undoubtedly hear more about in the coming weeks from your child(ren).
Parents are reminded of the importance to be familiar with Google Classroom, Infinite Campus, and JumpRope. These are all software programs that can help families stay aware of the everyday happenings in the classroom.
We have recently completed our Fall NWEA testing and are very near to ending the Fall Sports Season, which has been a welcomed reminder to "school as normal".
Please see the following newsletter for some News and Upcoming events regarding Biddeford Middle School.
Sincerely,
Mr. Scott Descoteaux

NWEA Test & Intervention Class
- Has your child talked about their Intervention Class at School?
- What exactly is the Intervention Class?
During the first week of October, our students at Biddeford Middle School completed the NWEA Test in both Math and Reading. The results of this test (along with other data points) are helping our staff to place students in a specific Intervention Class that will begin in November.
The purpose of the intervention class is to help every individual student in a specific area that is relative to them in the areas of Math or Reading. Our staff worked very hard during last Friday's workshop day to place students appropriately in these intervention classes.

Children's Oral Health Services
Nasson Health Care’s is offering a School-Based Oral Health Program at Biddeford Middle School (November 17, 18 & 19).
Oral health is an important part of a child’s overall health and well-being. Children with good oral health tend to eat well, sleep well, and develop as they should.
A child’s oral health also makes a big difference in their ability to learn. Children with tooth pain often have a hard time finishing tasks or activities in the classroom. They may act out, be withdrawn, or seem tired or depressed.
