The Akron Youth Wrestling program as purchased a new wrestling mat and donated it to the school. It will be used by the wrestling program, the middle school wrestlers and the high school wrestlers. The mat will be displayed and used at the state wrestling tournament this weekend before it comes home to the Akron fieldhouse. The youth program purchased the mat from Dollamur Sports Services and asked for it to be used at state wrestling. Ten new mats are chosen to be used at state and Akron's was chosen! We can't wait to see it!

Last week the 5th grade had a great presentation from CSU Agronomist, Jason Webb! He showed some soil samples, discussed their components, and explained what his work entailed.

A select few of our middle school and high school band members attended league band in Holyoke on Tuesday. The students practiced all day a played in a concert on Tuesday evening.

FCCLA week was celebrated this week. Members dressed up everyday and enjoyed activities all week. Highlights were delivering Valentines, treats, and a barbecue! Elementary got into the fun and had dress-up days to match the high school. It was a fun but busy week!

The Greenhouse Production class has been busy! We have started our seeds and are anxiously watching them grow. New this year, we also offered floral arrangements for Valentine's Day. It was a fun day for the class and we appreciate all of the support from the school and community.

The Rams hosted this year's Regional Tournament last Friday and Saturday. Merek Charney and Kaleb Grauer placed 3rd, Tayshaun Thomas placed 4th, and Mason Porteus placed 6th. Merek, Kaleb and Tayshaun have all qualified to wrestle at the state tournament later this week. Merek Charney also won his 100th career match!

Congratulations to all our Ram wrestlers on a great season. Good Luck at State!

High school basketball hosted Hi-Plains and traveled to Haxtun last weekend. The girls varsity picked up two wins and the boys varsity split. We will host the Holyoke Dragons tonight and prepare for district playoffs next week.

Our MS girls participated in the LPAA league tournament last Saturday morning. The B team lost both of their games and the A team won one and lost one. Great season girls and coaches!
