Create a Header with Canva

With our Canva integration, you can create a beautiful and on-brand header in Canva and easily add it to your Smore newsletters. Learn more about this integration below!

If you'd like to add a Canva header to an existing newsletter, go to your "Newsletters" page, hover your cursor over the desired newsletter, and click on "Edit". If you'd like to create a brand new newsletter, simply click on the orange "Start a newsletter" button at the top of your homepage.

Before you can access the Canva integration, make sure you are logged into your Canva account and Smore.

Click on the newsletter's header and then click "Create header with Canva" to open the Canva header.

Please note: If this is your first time using a Canva Header (or your first time using a Canva header after the new update) you will be asked if you would like Smore to access your Canva account. When the pop-up appears, click "Allow."

If you've never used Canva before, you'll need to create a Canva account to access the integration.

Once you've logged into your Canva account, you can go ahead and create the perfect header for your Smore newsletter.

The Canva integration provides a pre-set-sized template for your header.

When your header is ready, you can add your header to your Newsletter by clicking on "Return to Smore Newsletters." A prompt will appear confirming that you want to return to Smore, click on the button.

Alternatively, you can click on "Share" and then on the box that says "Return to Smore." A prompt will appear confirming that you want to return to Smore. Click the button to confirm.

In order to utilize the integration, you will need both Smore and Canva accounts. To create an account with Canva, visit www.canva.com and create a free account. After you set up your account, you can link it to your Smore account through the new Editor and watch the magic happen!

Projects made in Canva.com before the update will be available for use in your Smore account. However, any projects made via the Smore/Canva integration will not be synced into your account on Canva.com

When you send out your newsletter using our mailing feature, our system uses its Title as the subject of the email. If you'd like to re-name your newsletter, you can do so by clicking on the header and changing the Title. When you're done, make sure to click on "Done" to save the new name.

Unfortunately, when the new update occurred, all Canva and Smore accounts became unsynced.

To resolve this, you will need to recreate your headers. A workaround we recommend is to duplicate a newsletter with the header you want, take a screenshot of it, and then upload that image as your header in Canva. The headers are preset and correctly sized for Smore newsletters.

This was a very popular request, and we're happy to say you can finally use your Brand Kit in your Canva Header!

Absolutely! To edit your header, simply go to the Editor and click on the header, then click on "Edit header in Canva". When you're done editing, make sure to click on "Return to Smore Newsletters" to add your revised header to the newsletter.
