Harvest Grams... Get your Harvest Grams here!!

Our seniors are selling Harvest Grams (candy grams for the season) for $1. Students have been purchasing them to share with their friends, however, if you would like to send a Harvest Gram to your child, a teacher, or anyone else on our campus, you may purchase a Harvest Gram, too!

You can send your $$ in a sealed envelope along with what you'd like to say. Just tell your child to take the envelope to the office. Our seniors will re-write your note onto a Harvest Gram.

All Harvest Grams must be purchased by November 22nd as they will be given out during our Thanksgiving Potluck on Wednesday.

Our Annual Food Drive is in full swing and we are off to a great start! We're confident we will hit our goal of 4000 pounds... which is 50 lbs. per student! Hurry, we have only two weeks left.

So far we have collected just over 2000 pounds. Following the weekly specials below, we know we will be able to donate just what the River of Life Mission is in need of for the holiday season.

The last day to donate to our food drive is November 19, after which we will deliver everything in time for Thanksgiving.

Weekly Specials:

• Week of 11/1: Hygiene Products
• Week of 11/8: Canned Goods
• Week of 11/15: Cereal & Rice

Weekly prizes will be given to the class who brings in the most pounds each week, and a pizza party will be given to the class who brings in the most pounds overall.

Our Car Wash Fundraiser is over and what a great one it was. We were able to raise over $4000 on our campus alone.

The Oasis will continue to offer snacks and drinks to hungry students, however, with Covid numbers still fluctuating, and to keep students from congregating around the microwaves, we will not be offering foods requiring microwave heating at this time.

The Oasis will be accepting cash payments for purchases.

If your child is sick or has COVID-19 symptoms, even if vaccinated, DO NOT send them to school and contact your child's physician for further instruction.

As a courtesy, if someone in your household is awaiting COVID-19 test results, please keep your child home until a negative test result is confirmed.

Isolation

LBS policy on what to do if your child tests positive for COVID-19 (regardless of vaccination status):

1. The student must isolate for 10 days following the start of symptoms or Covid-positive test result, AND
2. be 24-hours free of fever or other symptoms.

Quarantine

LBS policy on what to do if your child comes in close contact with a COVID-positive person:

1. Students and staff who ARE fully vaccinated (with proof of vaccination on file at LBS) must quarantine, however, their quarantine may be shortened if a negative COVID test result is received. This test must be administered no less than 3-5 days after exposure.

2. Students and staff who are NOT fully vaccinated must quarantine for 10 days and should be tested. These students and staff who are close contacts can return to school when both of the following conditions are met: at least 10 days have passed since the last contact with the infected person, and no symptoms developed during the 10-day quarantine.

Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of a person with COVID-19 infection for a combined total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (regardless of mask use).

Vaccinations

We are not requiring staff or students to get vaccinated, but do hope you will all continue to be diligent in your own safety and that of others.

To qualify under the "fully vaccinated" status, your child's proof of vaccination must be on file at Lanakila Baptist Schools. If your child has been vaccinated and you would like to let us know, you may send us a copy of their vaccination record.

Be aware that as more schools begin requiring vaccinations for ILH Athletics, this may be something we also require for our athletes. We will let you know if this becomes the case.

Out of an abundance of caution for our students and staff, we are requesting proof of a negative Covid-19 test for all students who travel out-of-state regardless of vaccination status. The test must be conducted on-island AFTER returning to Oahu. If your child does not show proof of a negative Covid-19 test, they may not return to school for 10-days.

Until stated otherwise, this policy will continue to be in effect for all travel during the school year.

Grades are always being updated. Please be sure to log in to Chalkable regularly to monitor your child's progress. If you need to reach out to your child's teachers, please email them.
