Boys Golf
This past week the Boys Golf Team competed in the PAC Individual Golf Tournament at Turtle Creek. Junior Matthew Rieger shot a 4 over par 76 in extremely difficult conditions to tie for first place. There was a three-way playoff to determine the eventual champion. Matthew nearly holed out his chip for birdie and stepped up and sank a 12 foot putt for par to force Ayush Patel to make his birdie putt. The PV senior sank his birdie putt and Matthew finished second!
Matthew moved on to the Boys District One Individual Tournament, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday again at Turtle Creek.

Boys Soccer
The Boys Soccer team got off to a rough start to the week, playing depleted against an energetic Norristown squad, the Warriors played disjointed. While there were a few good individual efforts, the team aspect was missing and led to an 0-2 loss to the neighbors to the east. Man of the Match honors for this one go to Cole Larcinese who was able to get off three good shots and draw several fouls with a lot of hustle play.
On Wednesday OJR came in for a visit and while the boys played one of their better games of the season, it was not enough against an OJR team pushing for the playoffs. A couple of defensive breakdowns could not be undone even with the solid midfield play and best passing of the season for the Warriors. Falling 0-3 was not a true reflection of the level of play in this game. Man of the Match honors go to Curtis Alexander who was able to lock down whatever side of the field he was on at fullback.
The Warriors will wrap up their season this week with three more games, two at home of Thursday and Friday.
Upcoming Events:
-Tuesday 10/10 - Game vs. SpringFord (AWAY)
-Thursday 10/12 - Game vs. Boyertown (HOME)
-Friday 10/13 - Game vs. Central Bucks South (HOME)
Girls Soccer
Senior Aubrey Beaugard last week became the all-time leading goal scorer for Methacton Girls Soccer, by scoring her 40th career goal against Norristown on Thursday. She passed the career mark of 39 goals held by Ryan Reiner (Johnson), set back in 2001. Aubrey also broke the record for most goals in a season. She now has 18 goals (and counting!) this year.
The team started their week off with a 6-0 win over Norristown, led by 3 goals from Aubrey Beaugard, 2 goals from Katie Rozinsky, and 1 from Alyssa Lineen. Two assists were provided each from Kendall Ricca and Sage Bowman, while Avalina Willis and Abby Masotta each added one.
The Warriors then lost a heartbreaker to rival Owen J Roberts, 3-2 in OT. Highlights included a goal from Kendall Ricca, a direct kick goal from 45 yards out from Aubrey Beaugard, and a saved penalty kick by freshman goalkeeper Anna Qawasmy.
The girls then ended the week with another 6-0 win over Norristown. Aubrey provided yet another hat trick to break the career scoring record, with another 2 goals from Katie Rozinsky and 1 more from freshman Marlie Klein. Anna Rees, Dannie Bordonaro and Kendall Ricca each added an assist. Goalkeepers Anna Qawasmy and Alana Albergato combined for 6 saves.

Two doubles teams entered the PAC doubles this past week with amazing results. The pair of Lauren Montgomery (Senior) and Anika Suresh (Junior) advanced to the semi-finals which will take place this Wednesday at Perk Valley. In addition, our pair of freshman's Claire Montgomery and Chelsea Lian also had a strong run and will return to the semis on Wednesday. All the best to these talented players!

Volleyball
Volleyball had another good week last week going 3-0 overall and in conference play. Monday we defeated Norristown 3-0. The team was excited to get the week started with a win prior to our Dig Pink match up against OJR. Wednesday was our biggest crowd of the season with the student body coming out in pink to support breast cancer awareness and our fundraising efforts. The volleyball team came out with a great 3-0 victory over OJR. The team's efforts in fundraising helped to raise over $3,000 to support breast cancer research. It was an amazing effort by the team. We concluded the week defeating Pottstown 3-0 on Friday.
This week we will play at home against Spring Ford on Monday night and Wednesday at Boyertown. We will finish the week on Thursday at home against Upper Perk when we celebrate our seniors on Senior Night. Come support our wonderful group of seniors at 6pm on Thursday.
