Meadow Hall Staff Newsletter

We are at the last two weeks of the school year. As much as possible, we would like to keep a normal schedule/routine for the students.

At the same time, we are actively thinking and planning about next year. In room 35, you'll find a posted year-long calendar with school events. Please write on the calendar with any additional dates/ideas for our consideration.

At the end of Tuesday's staff members we will ask for all returning staff members to sign up for committees and, if interested, clubs/after school activities.

We would like to use this week to honor the volunteers that have helped us throughout the school year. Please encourage your students to make a thank you card for any and all volunteers you've had this year (field trip chaperones, class parties, making copies/helping in the classroom). Volunteers that have been helping on a regular basis will receive a token of appreciation in the main office.

The Right to Read film shares the stories of an NAACP activist, a teacher, and two American families who fight to provide our youngest generation with the most foundational indicator of life-long success: the ability to read.

The first round of spending is due by June 14th. All team leaders will need to submit your team's order by that date. Desmond will be sending out the memo with specifics this week.

During the week of June 5th, Media specials will be held in the classrooms. Mr. Schmirler and Ms. Boisture will be doing a chromebook check with the students to identify any chromebooks that are damaged. They will collect any damaged chromebooks and keep in the carts those that are working well. Students will also clean the chromebooks at that time and remove any stickers/labels. If you prefer that the labels aren't removed, please plan on removing them yourself by June 20.

Friday, June 9th will be our last day of focus groups.

Our last food distribution of the school year with MHES and Small Things Matter will be happening this Monday, June 5.

SPRING PICNIC - JUNE 9

Come celebrate the end of the school year at the Meadow Hall PTA Spring Picnic. It will be held Friday, June 9, 6 - 8pm rain or shine. Pre-order a pizza or bring a picnic dinner and a blanket to celebrate with your friends and family. Kids After Hours will be providing free Moon Bounces. The PTA will be selling raffle tickets for great prizes (bring cash)! Pre-order your Little Caesars pizza using the attached form by Wednesday, June 7. The PTA will be selling drinks on the day of the event. Hope to see everyone there!
