Preschool Parent Groups 2023-2024

I like to treat our hard working staff and need your help! I am seeking donations of individually wrapped/packed items such as bags of chips, cookies, candies, granola bars, etc... to stock my treat cart. Donations of bottled water, water flavor packets, and soda pop are also needed.

Parents must drop their child off into the office between 8:30-3:10. Someone in the office will walk your child to their classrooms if you drop off during those hours.

Thank you for staying behind the blue line at drop off and dismissal! This allows for better visibility for teachers to see children entering into their care and releasing them back into your care. We also have our very own resource officer, Officer Barker, to help keep us safe!

We appreciate everyone's efforts to keep children and staff safe and secure!

Lauren Wise is our resource coordinator in Kings. The primary role of the Resource Coordinator is to meet with families to identify needs and then help connect them with available community resources. These resources may include clothing, shoes, school supplies, mental health and substance abuse counseling, mentoring/tutoring, and medical and financial assistance. Please reach out to her anytime!

An October 22, 1986, President Reagan signed the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA, Public Law 99-519). The act required the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to develop regulations for addressing asbestos in public and private elementary and secondary schools. On October 30, 1987, the EPA published the Asbestos-Containing Materials in Schools Rule (40 CFR Part 763 Subpart E). This rule stipulated, and our district has complied with, the following key requirements:

• Identification of asbestos-containing materials in all school buildings.
• Development and implementation of asbestos management plans for each school.
• Regular surveillance and reinspection of the condition of asbestos in the buildings.
• Designation and training of a person to oversee asbestos activities within the district and to ensure compliance with the regulations.

This memorandum is to advise you that asbestos management plans for the district schools were developed following the EPA ruling and subsequently approved by the State of Ohio, Department of Health. These plans are regularly updated and are available for you to review. Should you have any questions regarding this program or would like to review an asbestos management plan, please contact the Board of Education offices during normal business hours.

To protect confidentiality of students, Kings Local School District’s policy is to identify students’ work and photograph by first and last name. The Kings Local School District has authorization to publish student’s work and/or photograph on the Kings Local School District website and/or school and/or local papers and/or district print publications. Kings Local School District also has authorization to publish student’s work and/or image on videotape for school productions and/or local news media.

As a parent/guardian or eligible student you have the right to request, in writing, that the school NOT disclose the above mentioned information about them. This request must be received in a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed two weeks from notification of rights.
