The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. Apply at www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org through October 31, 2022.

Elks National Foundation 2021 Most Valuable Student Scholarship – Open to any high school senior who is a US citizen pursuing a four-year degree at a college or university. Scholarship deadline is November 14, 2022. Application may be found at elks.org/scholars/scholarships/mvs.cfm Applications are based on scholarship, leadership and financial need. Five hundred awards are presented.

Selected Nebraska students are pre-admitted into one of the following specific programs at UNMC: Dentistry, Medical Lab Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiography, Dental Hygiene, Medicine, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant. KHOP (Kearney Health Opportunities Program: Selected students will receive a full tuition waiver and guaranteed admittance to their chosen professional school (Medical Laboratory Science, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Radiography). The Acacia Leadership Scholarship is a single-year scholarship awarded to 3 (1-$1,000 and 2-$500) incoming male freshmen at UNL who display excellence in academics, motivation for personal success with an interest in developing and applying leadership skills. Go to http://acaciaunl.org/als/ for more info and to submit an application. Deadline: Jan. 31, 2021.

Nebraska Banker's Association (NBA) Scholarship: Must be studying business, finance, accounting, economics or another business-related area and planning to attend one of the three Nebraska state colleges or a privately funded college or university. Deadline: January 31, 2023.

Blue Valley Community Action Partnership is offering $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to attend 2 and 4 year colleges. Applicants must fall at or below certain income guidelines. Application is attached below or you can access it at www.bvca.net. Deadline for application: March 1, 2023.

Upcoming Tests

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be given at HCS on Nov 2 (date will be changed if needed for state volleyball tournament). The ASVAB is a test designed to discover students’ aptitudes and provides different information than an achievement test such as the PSAT. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a comprehensive career exploration and planning program that includes a multiple aptitude test battery, an interest inventory, and various career planning tools designed to help students explore the world of work. There is no cost to take the ASVAB. Scores are not distributed to military recruiters by the school unless the student requests it. There will be an interpretation session held once results are back to connect your skills & interests to potential careers. Sign up with Mrs. Koehler if you want to take it.
