from photo to felt

Sandra’s reminiscent of pop art technology makes it easy to transmit Pop Art-like photos on felt. We are walking in the footsteps of Andy Warhol - a photo of a city view, landscape, flower, plant, an everyday object or a portrait is processed on the computer and serves as a template for the felted picture.

The course is designed for beginners and advanced users alike.

We will create a small series of 2-4 images with different background color. There are about 1-4 DIN A3 sized areas felted and Sandra will show you her method how an image can be used as a base for working with wool. Sandra has developped her own technique. The photo is previously edited on the computer by Sandra and she will show this method in the course.

Sandra Struck-Germann, born in Aachen, living in Dusseldorf, is since 2008 working with felt projects in schools, kindergartens and nursing homes, as wel with fellt courses. The last few years she is very active in shows and exhibitions. She has won first prices in 2011 at International path of artworks in felt in Tesimo/Alto Adige Italy and in 2013 at the TEXTILE OUTDOOR AWARD 2013 Germany. Recently her work is exhibited at the Passion Felt Exhibition.

All workshops are being taught in Dutch and/or English. We will serve fresh coffee and homemade lunches, with healthy salades, farmers bread and several Dutch cheeses.
