Newsletter for November 2023
A Note From The Principal- Mrs. Powell
Torrey Hill Families,
As we enter November, it's a perfect time to pause and reflect on the many things we are grateful for. We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of students, dedicated teachers, and supportive families. Together, we create a nurturing environment for learning, growth, and development.
Over the next month, let's take a moment to reflect on the positive impact we can have when we work together. We encourage you to share this spirit of gratitude with your children and loved ones. It's a wonderful opportunity to practice appreciation, kindness, and giving back to others.
This month we will be celebrating two very special days, November 10th we will be honoring our local Veterans, and November 13th we will celebrate World Kindness Day with students choosing one act of kindness to share outside of school.
November also brings cooler temperatures. Please make sure that your child is wearing a coat everyday to school. Once the snow starts coming, students will need coats, snow pants, boots, hats and mittens for recess. Please make sure all items are labeled. If students do not have boots or snow pants, they have to stay on the sidewalk during recess time. We go out each and every day if it is not raining and the “real-feel” temperature is 8 degrees or higher. If you are in need of any winter snow clothes for your child, reach out to the Torrey Hill office.
Always,
Mrs. Powell

REPORT CARDS
Directions for Viewing Student Report Cards in Synergy
We have practical, parent-friendly technology within Lake Fenton Community Schools. One tool many of you are familiar with is our ParentVue system, sometimes referred to as Synergy. Your student's report card information can now be obtained within ParentVue under the "Report Card" section. You will need to login to ParentVue to access 4th marking period and final grades. Updated report card information will be available by the end of the day Friday, 11/03/2023. You will also have the option to print a .pdf of your student's report card if you'd like a hard copy. This is the same process our Middle School and High School families use to access their student's report cards. Please do not hesitate to contact our school if you would like further assistance.

Change In End Of Day Pick Up
Any bus changes must be approved by the principal at least 24 hours in advance. Students are not allowed to take alternative buses home unless their is an emergency situation. Please do not use bus transportation as a means of transporting friends for after school social or extracurricular events. Our buses have capacity limits and we cannot add students to bus routes. We care about the safety of our students and therefore must closely monitor ridership on our school buses.
Traffic Safety
We realize the morning and afternoon can be busy times in our parking lots at West Shore and Torrey Hill. Please help with traffic concerns by avoiding crossing over the incoming lane (AM) and outgoing lane (PM) at West Shore (Lahring entrance).
Also, if you enter Torrey Hill from Torrey Rd., please remember you can only turn right at the flagpole. Some are turning left where the sign, "No Left Turn", is located. Thank you for your support.
