PDF's and Annotations
Preview rocks!
Want to deliver digital content to your students, have them write/highlight/draw on the pages, and then hand them back in? You can! You have several annotation options right at your fingertips. All free, all easy to use, no printing required. Preview is a great option! Your PDF's most likely open in Preview by default already, and it can be used offline.

Crocodoc
A great PDF annotation app is free and available on the web: Crocodoc is reliable and easy. You can open and annotate PDF's in a limited number of steps, save the marked-up version, and hand it right back in. It is web-based, though, so internet is required.

PDFzen
This application is still in Beta, so it may not be free for long, but it loads inside your Drive and automatically pulls your Google login - very nice for students. Make sure to download your marked-up pdf, though. They only store it for 24 hours.

Converting Files to PDF's
PDF stands for Portable Document Format, which basically means it's a universal file that will open on any device, any where, any time. You can pretty much turn any file you own into a PDF using the "Save" or "Print" options on your device. If you are having trouble converting your files into PDF's, take a look at these instructions and see if they help.
