Town Center Parent Newsletter

Today was the kick-off of our first Texan Town! For our families that are new to Town Center, Texan Town is a time where all of our kids are able to participate in enrichment activities based on their interests. Our learners fill out an application for clubs that they are interested in joining. Our K-2nd graders are able to explore their interests within their grade level, and 3rd-5th graders travel around the building for multi-grade clubs. Some of the clubs being offered during this first five week session include- Breakout, Cup Stacking, TCE Publicity, Jewelry Making, Robotics, Polymer Clay Creations, Bloxels, KTEX Productions & Editing, Chess, Bucket Drumming, Harry Potter Fan Club, Board Game Creations, Maker-space, Ultimate Fantasy Team, Origami, Texan Buddies, Texan Treats, and Master Chef. We'd love for our TCE families to join us Tuesday, September 24th at Sonic. Come by anytime between 5:00-8:00 PM for great food delivered by our very own TCE teachers and staff as your carhops! A portion of the night's sales goes directly to our school. We can't wait to see you there!

Friday, October 11th is Parent Conference Day at Town Center Elementary. There is no school this day. Educators use this day to conference with families about their child's level of learning, areas of success, and ways to support the learning at home. Be on the lookout for a link from your child's teacher to sign-up

It's time for the 2019-2020 Creative Writing Competition sponsored by the Coppell Gifted Association. This will be the 12th year CGA has run this competition, and we'd love to have our 4th and 5th graders participate. Please see below for the link to register and important details.

- FREE for Coppell ISD to students to enter.

- Open to any student in grades 4-12

- Students do not have to be part of the gifted program to participate in the competition

This year Box Tops for Education has created an even easier way to earn money for our school- a new phone app! Simply download the app, find our school to complete the profile and start scanning in receipts from your favorite grocery store. No need to clip anymore!

If you have been collecting Box Tops over the summer, no need to worry! We are able to earn money through the app and through actual Box Tops that are turned in, so feel free to still send those in on the pink Box Top paper or in a Ziploc bag.
