Principal Update

LP is using the month of February as an opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate the richness of Black history together! We hope to inspire our students to embrace diversity, promote equality, and foster a culture of inclusion. To date, we have invited Eastridge seniors to participate in our World Read Aloud day by sharing a story of Mary Walker. Our library offers resources and activities for students to learn about the incredible contributions and achievements of Black Americans. We are even using our morning show to discuss the importance of learning about different types of people who have made history and for students to share what makes them proud of their culture and heritage!

Dear LP Families,

Happy Friday! Tonight is the night...our Drama Club is performing 'Theseus and the Minotaur' for our community at Eastridge High School. The production starts at 7:00pm; all are welcome! A huge thank you to Kathy Miller and Laurel Loewenguth for guiding our 42 student performers as they shine on stage. It really is something to see the hours and hours of hard word come to fruition as they perform. I know how proud I am...I can only imagine how you must feel! We are looking forward to seeing you all tonight!

Also, I would be remiss if I did not thank our amazing PTA for organizing an epic Glow Dance last Friday. The kids were so well behaved and we had an absolute blast. Thank you to all of our families for once again showing up in large numbers to have fun and support our PTA events.

Our district Drug & Alcohol Counselor, Amanda Knipfing in collaboration with the American Lung Association and Uplift Irondequoit have put together an event called: Nicotine & Vaping 101 for our school community. Families will get to learn more about nicotine use and vaping in our youth community, ask questions, and learn more about prevention.

Both our LP PTA and DE PTA are co-sponsoring this event. Save the date! March 5th, 7:00pm at Durand Eastman Auditorium.
