ALL ABOUT THE BOLT
What is the Bridges Bolt?
A school-wide event on May 5, 2023 in which all students and staff participate.
A new approach to fundraising that avoids selling products and directs all profits back to the school.
Bridges Elementary Fundraiser, where students are encouraged to get pledges and run laps to raise money for school-wide programming.
What are the goals of the Bridges Bolt?
To fund enhancing learning opportunities in our Outdoor Learning Environment at Bridges Elementary School.
To include the entire Bridges Elementary community in a fun and healthy activity as a community.
What do students do for the Bridges Bolt?
Use the online pledge system and/or the pledge envelope to collect sponsors for the Bridges Bolt.
Run/walk a looped track on the school field for 20 minutes on the Bridges Bolt day. Each session of the Bridges Bolt takes 1 hour, with time to get on the field, warm up, run, cool down and have a post-race snack.
Have a ton of fun, whether or not they have pledges.
What do parents/guardians do for the Bridges Bolt?
Help your student get sponsors before the Bridges Bolt.
Volunteer the day of the Bridges Bolt.
Dress your student appropriately for running and the weather the day of the Bridges Bolt. Send a water bottle with your child the day of.
Support their students with words of encouragement and by cheering from the sideline as they participate in this fun and healthy fundraising event. Signs, crazy outfits, and noisemakers are welcome!
Help your student collect pledges and thank their sponsors after the Bridges Bolt.
What do students get from the Bridges Bolt?
An understanding of the fun and importance of exercise.
An appreciation of teamwork and the strong school unity at Bridges Elementary.
A FREE t-shirt and healthy snack on Bridges Bolt day.
What about pledges?
Sponsors can pledge an amount per lap or a set amount.
For donations less than $250, a cleared check serves as a receipt. A receipt will be sent home for donations greater than $250 or by request.
If your family prefers not to solicit pledges, please consider making a donation to Bridges Elementary Attn: Bridges Bolt.
What happens after the Bridges Bolt?
A packet telling how many laps your student ran will come home on race day.
Students should collect outstanding pledges, with checks payable to Bridges Elementary Attn: Bridges Bolt.
Turn in pledges in the pledge envelope by May 12, 2023.
VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP
Bridges Elementary is hosting a fundraiser and spirit activity, the Bridges Bolt. The Run takes place on the school soccer field and students complete laps to raise funds for our school. Friends and family are invited to come and cheer for their students as they run laps in both traditional and non-traditional ways.

PM 4K/SPNC & All Day 4K 12:45-1:15
1st Grade: 1:30-2:30
To help make this event successful, we need your help! You may sign up to volunteer for one time slot or multiple time slots if you can help throughout the event. A final schedule and detailed instructions will be shared with all volunteers prior to the Bridges Bolt.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Lap Counters (20 people per time slot)
Count laps during the run by literally tallying on the back of students' T-shirts and either help check kids out of the course or hand out snacks at the end of each shift.
To volunteer, either sign up online here or return the bottom portion to school.
