I am the "I" in kind
Each month, we celebrate students for going above and beyond! This honor comes from Staff nominations for exceeding Fairmount expectations of be Respectful, Responsible and Safe. Not only do students get invited to lunch with the Principal, they receive recognition on Fairmount's, "Be the "I" in Kind" Board. It is located in the entryway for all to see. Parents are also called to share the good news. Congratulations!

Picture Retakes
If your child missed Picture Day on October 24, or would like to have their photo retaken, school picture retakes will take place the morning of Monday, December 11th.
If you already ordered photos, but your child wasn't at school on picture day, you don't need to do anything. Your child will have their picture taken December 11.
If your child is having retakes, please have them bring their original photo packet to school on December 11 to return to the photographers. There is no cost for retakes unless you are planning to keep the original photo packet too, in which case you will need to place another order for the new photos using the link below.
If you would like to order photos for the December 11th date, you can use this link:
https://v2.myproimages.com/kids-photography-2111/code/FAEFALL23
If you order from the link above, a photo will be taken of your student on December 11. These orders must be made by 10pm the day BEFORE picture day.
The link above is not for the original photos that were taken October 24. If you would like to order more of the original photos, please use the form enclosed in the photo packet you will receive this week.
If you have any questions please email KIDS Photography at KIDSphoto@comcast.net
Social Emotional Learning and Bullying Prevention
Each week, Fairmount students receive class lessons from Megan De Robertis, (also known as Mrs. D.), our school counselor/psychologist. This fall, we worked on recognizing emotions in ourselves and others, identifying our “best self” traits, and developing strategies to regulate our emotions.
In the following weeks, a four-lesson series will be taught on bullying in order to help every student feel safe, respected, empowered, and included. These lessons help students recognize what bullying is: intentionally mean behavior that happens over and over, that is one-sided, and involves a difference in power between the person doing the bullying and the victim.
Students also learn other important skills, including assertively telling the person to stop and reporting the bullying to a trusted adult. In older grades, students learn about the power and responsibility of bystanders, (people who witness bullying), as well as the complexities of cyberbullying.
If you have any questions about the bullying prevention series, the RULER approach to social-emotional learning, or supports for your child, please reach out to Megan De Robertis at derobertismt@mukilteo.wednet.edu or 425-366-2968.
