WMMS Tiger Times
September 2022
Dear WMMS Families
September 2022
We're off to a great start to this school year! Last week went really well with students learning our new procedures and expectations and I'm very proud of them. Students are adjusting well to the changes and our new 6th graders are really knocking it out of the park! Thank you for sharing your children with us everyday!
The Kirksville R-III School District is continuing our work with the program called Capturing Kids' Hearts. This program places high value on building relationships. Our September focus will be on building social contracts within each grade level. The social contract is an agreement of behavior. Students will answer these four questions together in class:
How do you want to be treated by me (leader)?
How do you want to be treated by each other?
How do you think I (the leader) want to be treated by you?
How do you want to treat each other when there is conflict?
These social contracts will be referred to in every classroom and become the basis of how we treat each other at WMMS. I look forward to seeing the completed contracts and will share these with you next month.
Sports are starting up next week and I can't wait to see the students hard work at practice pay off! I hope to see a large crowd at our events cheering on our Tigers! As always, if you have any questions please let me know and enjoy the three day weekend!
