Reminder of our policy on cell phones and smartwatches with cellular capabilities:

Cell phones and smartwatches that are capable of making calls/texts that are brought to school are expected to be turned off and left in a child’s backpack during the school day. During the school day, supervised use of phones is available in the classroom or the office if students need to contact their parents/guardians.

Survey results will help us to better understand the conditions at your child’s school and to guide improvement. For the survey to be validated, we need at least 20% of our parents to take the survey.

Spring Conferences will be held:

• Thursday, March 23, 4:00-8:00 PM (Normal attendance day for students)
• Friday, March 24, 8:00 AM-3:00 PM (Non-attendance day for students)

All conferences will be in-person at Indian Grove School and we will once again use the Meet the Teacher platform to schedule. The sign-up link will be shared with families Thursday, March 2, at noon, and will close Wednesday, March 15, at 10:00 PM.

Childcare will be available in the gym during your conference time, if needed. The childcare sign-up link will be shared at the same time as the conference sign-up link and will also close on Wednesday, March 15, at 10:00 PM.

Beginning Monday, March 13, families will be able to register their students for the 2023-2024 school year. This is required for all students. More information will be shared as we get closer to that date.

All 2nd grade students are required to turn in a dental exam form signed by a licensed dentist before May 15, 2023. Dental forms can be accessed online under Parent resource/Health Services. If you have any questions, please contact the health office at (224) 612-7505.

Coming up in April, the Miles of Smiles, Ltd. dental program will be visiting our district. This is a program that offers free dental exams to students of all grades and also fulfills the mandated dental exam for anyone entering kindergarten, 2nd, 6th and 9th grades.

In order to have your child participate, you will need to fill out a permission form. Once fully completed, the permission form should be returned to your child’s teacher by March 15.

All children who return a completed permission form will receive a dental exam. Following the exam at school, you will be notified if further dental treatment is needed.

*Important Note: Please make sure to fill out the entire permission form.

The Indian Grove PTC is again hosting Pizza and Bingo Night Friday, April 14th 5-8pm in the Indian Grove Cafeteria. Enjoy a fun evening with your family with delicious Pizza, Bingo, and PRIZES!
