Welcome to Week 10
Today classes are enjoying "Party Day' and we say thank you to our P&C for providing a sausage sizzle to help celebrate.
Tomorrow we say a final farewell to our 2020 Year 6 students and wish them all a successful future as they head off to their prospective high schools. The annual "Clap Out" (as for everything else in 2020) will be conducted a little differently to usual however, we are thrilled to welcome one family member of each student in Year 6 to observe and celebrate the end of primary school with their children. As for the Presentation Day assemblies, entry to our school site will be by ticket only (sent home yesterday with students). Please do not request extra tickets as we are unable to accommodate any more adults with the COVID-19 restrictions.
Thanks to our Stage 3 staff for organizing this.
Tomorrow is the final day for students to attend this year. Teaching staff also finish their work year tomorrow. No students are to attend school beyond Wednesday 16 December.
Thank you to our wonderful MPS staff for going above and beyond in their support of students and families this year. What a magnificent team of people.
Thanks to our parents and carers who have supported everything we have requested this year. We acknowledge and respect that COVID-19 has impacted you incredibly and that you have missed out on many regular events and opportunities. Here's hoping 2021 will allow greater participation.
To our students, congratulations on achieving great things despite the challenges presented this year. Your resilience, fortitude, courage and grit is admirable and the staff of MPS are proud of you all.
Merry Christmas from your proud and grateful Principal,
Mrs Van Egmond

Year 6 News
Year 6 Clap-Out
On the last day of school, Wednesday 16th December, we will be farewelling our Year 6 students with a performance and ‘Clap Out’.
The ‘Clap Out’ will take place at 2:30pm under the Area B Cola. Seating will be well spaced for everyone's health and safety. In order to allow families the opportunity to share the occasion with students, we are making one ticket available to the families of each Year 6 student.
Due to maximum capacity regulations we are unable to alter this allowance. On the day of the event, all adults entering the school grounds will need to have the attached ticket and the attached form (completed). Admittance to the school grounds for ticket holders will begin 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the event.
On entering the school grounds, we request that you move directly to Area B and sit on the specifically allocated seating. Parents/Carers will need to remain seated for the duration of the event. At the completion of the ‘Clap Out’ parents/carers are asked to leave the school grounds promptly to comply with COVID Restrictions.
Year 6 Farewell
A big thank to families for your support in making the Year 6 Farewell possible for 2020. Altering our normal structure of our Year 6 farewell was important to make this event happen, and we appreciate your flexibility. The students had a great night with friends.
All of year 6 have access to the photos from the night through their student email. I will make a further link available through google classroom.
Game Changer Challenge 2020
Nidhi S, Brooke L, Thomas F, Sanjith D and Xiang L from Stage 3 have been coding together throughout Term 3, following up on the work they started in Term 1 for the Game Changer Challenge.
With the aim of creating a technology that would help the Maryland community, the students have coded a site called 'Maryland Public School's Legendary Learning with Landy site'.
Students coded everything using the block coding site Scratch. They have spent hours to painstakingly create animations of Landy with additional applications. They have also played and recorded ukulele and guitar for the site. They edited, music, voice and photos to create the site you can visit today.
Click the link below, let your child navigate through the site, to learn and play games. Have fun with Landy!
