For students that did not have their picture taken on the original picture date, here is a link to order pictures: https://strawbridge.fotomerchanthv.com/clients/bridgewater-elementary-school/fall-retake-pictures-11-8-2022-54/optIn When entering student information, parents should be sure to enter the student's name as it is on file at the school.
For students that would like to have their picture retaken, they need to return the original packet of pictures to the photographer on retake day. No forms need to be filled out.
Reminder: Capital Projects Levy Vote on Nov. 8!
The district is asking voters to renew and expand the district's capital projects levy. Please vote on Nov. 8! The capital projects levy provides funds to:
- Maintain and improve facilities and grounds.
- Purchase materials and equipment to support students and staff.
- Relieve pressure on the general fund by paying the salaries and benefits of eligible technology services staff.
If both the renewal and expansion questions pass, it will increase the district's revenue from $750,000 per year to $1.65 million per year from the capital projects levy. For a home that is valued at $350,000, this would result in a tax increase of $81 per year (or $6.75 per month.) Learn more at https://northfieldschools.org/cpl.
Northfield High School Theater Presents The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
Nov. 4, 5, 10, 12 at 7:30 PM, Nov. 6 and 13 at 2:00 PM in the NHS Auditorium
Tickets $7 for Adults, $5 for Students, Seniors, available at the door
Based on Kate DiCamillo’s beautiful novel of the same name.
Edward Tulane is an expensive toy rabbit made of china. He is loved by a little girl named Abilene, but Edward doesn’t care. He is vain and self-centered. He has no interest in anyone other than himself. On an ocean voyage, Edward is accidentally thrown overboard and sinks to the bottom of the sea. So begins his journey—a journey over which he has no control, for he is a toy rabbit. He can neither move nor speak. As years pass by, Edward meets many different people in many different situations. Through this miraculous journey, Edward learns what it is to love, what it is to lose that love, and how to find the courage to love again. This play is an intimate storytelling piece, a theatrical tour de force for its ensemble of actors and musicians.
Bridgewater 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade students will being seeing this presentation at Spring Creek on Monday morning. Kate DiCamillo will also be at the Content Bookstore downtown Northfield during the Winter Walk in December!

Northfield Library NEW Book Return Locations
It’s easier than ever to return your library books on time!
Thanks to the generous support of the Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library,
patrons will now have an easier time getting their books back to the library. Two new book
returns have been added to convenient off-site locations. One is located outside the main
entrance of the Northfield Community Resource Center (NCRC) at 1651 Jefferson Parkway, the
other is located in the main lobby of the Northfield Community Education Center (NCEC) at 700
Lincoln Parkway.
In addition to more ways to return books, the library went “fine free” in February of this year and
is expanding bookmobile service and outreach efforts which will include a satellite location, the
Northfield Public Library Oasis, at the NCRC in the coming year.
“Equitable service delivery is a top priority for the Library and we know that lack of transportation
and time can pose significant barriers to accessing the library,” said Library Director, Natalie
Draper. “Eliminating fines and making it easier to return books is a small step in the right
direction toward removing those barriers.”
To learn more about the project and how you can support the efforts of the Friends and
Foundation of the Library, visit: mynpl.org/oasis.

Community School
Hello Families!
We had another great week of programming this week! We want to continue extending our gratitude to BW families and students, this is such a great school!
After School Programs:
Students continue to impress me everyday in their clubs! This week we saw determination from students in robotics while constructing different types of robots, and Rice County 4-H met with the Big Buddies club to explore different types of produce grown in MN! Check out some of the pictures from this week below!
Club Leaders are just as excited as students to be together each afternoon. We hope you have heard similar exciting stories at home.
Evening Program:
What an amazing turnout we had last Wednesday evening! We loved seeing students in their costumes and walking around with their faces painted! We hope everyone enjoyed the evening as well. I added some pictures from the Fall Festival to our Facebook page, so please click the link and follow our page for more updates! Please follow us on Facebook here.
Next week we look forward to hosting River Bend Nature Center again during our Wednesday evening program, along with our regularly scheduled classes and clubs.
Thank you,
Jenny Jones
