A Note from Mr. Hamilton, Principal
Greetings Central Families,
We hope you enjoy our launching of smore as a means for increasing and improving regular office communication with parents. Other buildings have used this service with considerable success. We plan to provide parent newsletters through smore at least twice a month. Information within will mainly center on important reminders, upcoming events, and highlights that capture the pulse of the building.
As we enter week 5, students are finding their groove as classroom communities take form. We look forward to diving deeper into our curriculum units and ratcheting up the rigor. Most of our fall benchmark assessments have been conducted, giving teachers the information they need to tailor instruction and supports in accordance to specific student needs.
We're well on our way to making this the best year yet, and as signaled this summer, focusing the student experience on strengths, purpose, and joy.

Breakfast and Lunch in the Classroom
Breakfast is served in the classroom at the start of the school day.
Grade 1: 10:55 - 11:25
Grade 2: 11:26 - 11:56
DK/K: 11:57 - 12:27
Grade 3: 12:28 - 12:58
Grade 4: 12:59 - 1:29
We have 5 lunch monitors which makes it possible for students to have lunch in the classroom. A calm atmosphere is enjoyed by all.
A Message from the Foodservice Director
Menu Changes & Supply Chain Disruptions
I hear you and I share your frustrations regarding menu changes. Unfortunately, the changes are not due to my own decision, but rather an inability to obtain the product that is originally on the menu. We are experiencing extreme supply chain disruptions, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to get the items needed to follow the menu. I notify principals of any menu changes as soon as I am aware of them; please check weekly communications from your building for the most up to date information regarding the menu.
I wish I could say it's going to get better soon, but from everything I have been hearing and everything I have been experiencing, it may even get worse before it gets better. A few manufacturers just announced that they are suspending production of entire product lines until January 2022. I appreciate your understanding as I work through these challenges.
