Need to Know Information
Field Day: Monday is Field Day at Crane Elementary! Students will be outside having fun most of the day so please have your child wear tennis shoes and sunscreen that day and bring a water bottle. Students can also wear hats Monday as well!
The Duck Race: On Monday, a permission slip will be coming home with students who met the end-of-year testing incentive to attend the FBLA Duck Race. Students will be bussed to the Industrial Park Pond in Crane to watch the Crane Fire Department spray the rubber ducks across the pond to see which duck wins. Students attending will also get Dippin' Dots thanks to CSCO! Please sign and return it by Wednesday so we know your child can attend.
Move Up Day: Students who are currently in kindergarten through 5th grades will get to find out which class they will be in next year on Thursday. We will do this prior to the Awards Assemblies. If your student is not present on the last day of school, we will mail a letter letting you know your child's teacher for next year. We will not give this information over the phone if your child happens to be absent. (Preschoolers will not know which teacher they have until after school starts as we will be doing "soft placements" in kindergarten to see how the dynamics of the group fit together best!)
End of Year Award Assemblies: On Thursday, we will have our End of Year Award Assemblies. The assembly for preschool through 3rd grades will be held at 1:15 PM. Then at 2:15 PM, the 4th through 6th grades assembly will be held. Both will take place in the Jr. High Gym. If your child is receiving an award, you will get a message from his/her teacher.
Summer School Enrollment: Summer School enrollment forms were sent home. If you would like to sign your child up to attend summer school and lost or never received a form, please let us know and we will get one sent to you! Summer School is May 30- June 23 from 7: 40 AM (10 minutes earlier than normal) to 3:30 PM. All students will receive free breakfast and free lunch.
Boys & Girls Club Down Week: The Boys & Girls Club will be closed the last week of school, May 22-May 26. They will reopen for Summer School on Tuesday, May 30.
Boys & Girls Club Summer Schedule: Boys & Girls Club will continue through Summer School and the month of July, but they will be housed at First Baptist Church during June and July. We will bus students from school to the church at the end of the day after summer school each day. The rates of Boys & Girls Club for summer school change.
Summer School (May 30-June 23)= $15 per week per child
During the full day weeks, the Club is planning fun field trips and experiences for students! Don't let your kids sit at home and be bored! Sign them up to attend!
Full Day Weeks (Last week in June and through July)= $30 per week per child
Yearbook: In case you have missed the posts about the Crane Schools Yearbook, all sales are online this year. Books are $45 and all sales end May 31, 2023. If you would like to order a yearbook please go to [https://shop.yearbookmarket.com/craneelementaryandhighschool] .
