Fannin County Scripp's National Spelling Bee Contest

On Friday, January 13th, I.W. Evans hosted the campus and county Scripp's National Spelling Bee contest. Madelyn Hall, a fourth grader, was our Champion Speller. Kyla Sampson, a 6th grader, was the runner-up and 5th grader, Rylie Burns came in 3rd place. We had 32 participants, the top two spellers from each homeroom, participate in the school-wide event. The winner of the school-wide spelling bee will go on to compete in the Regional Spelling Bee in pursuit of advancing to the state level. We are proud of all of our students that participated as it takes a lot of courage to stand up in front of a crowd to compete!

New Year Goal Setting!

All of our 6th grade students took time in Mrs. Benson and Mrs. Tello's class to reflect on last semesters effort and set sites on new goals. Through class discussions, students worked on self awareness and the meaning and benefits behind looking in the past to adjust and fix for the future. Realizing when small goals are reached, they create long-term goal success! Super proud of our kids and their honesty put on paper.
