Meadow Hall Staff Newsletter
Week of October 10
Week of October 10-14
Thank you for inviting families to the Open House today! It is so wonderful to see our community back in the building. Thank you for welcoming them and showing off all you do for their kids every day.
At times absences and coverage means that certain focus groups don't have their teacher available. If a sub or para or teacher intern is available to still hold that focus group - that is wonderful! However, it may be that the focus group kids will need to stay in their homeroom and read to self or work on another activity. Thank you for your flexibility!!
Reminders
Our next staff meeting is on Tuesday, October 18th and will be led by our Restorative Justice instructional specialist, Bethlehem Beru. If you are able to submit a "student scenario" that would be so helpful - here is the form to submit. We'd like to make the staff meeting very realistic and practical, so having actual scenarios will do that.
Bus evacuation drill will be held on Wednesday, October 19th starting at 9:45am. Classes will be called down to the front of the school when it's your turn. We will start with Kindergarten and work our way up through the grades. Mr. Hines will be in touch with 5th grade teachers regarding which patrols will be needed to assist with the drill.
Committee Sign-Up
Each year, all professional (MCEA) staff sign up for a committee to serve on throughout the year. Each committee is responsible for a particular event or set of smaller events to plan and attend. There is no set day or time for committees to meet... simply come together as you need to successfully plan and execute your event(s). Click the link to sign up!
Mental Health Week
On Wednesday, October 19th, we will wear Orange for Unity Day!

Here is the link for the sessions PLCamp 2022 Session Menu and for the sign up EVENT REGISTRATION SITE. Jennifer will send more details in a separate email. Please send a quick email to Ilana if you sign up, so when we set times for focus group meetings we can avoid your PL Camp time:)
Fall Festival
Classes will hold a "Fall Festival Party" on Friday, October 28th from 2:15-3:15pm. The parties may consist of crafts, games and food (but please be aware of any food allergies in your classroom). Grade level teams may wish to reach out via Dojo to parents and ask for specific donations or volunteers to attend the party and help with the activities. Each class may have up to two parent volunteers to help with the event. Volunteers may begin arriving at 2pm and will need to sign in at the main office. Please be consistent across the grade level in terms of having parent volunteers, activities planned and food offered.
As a school, we do not dress up in costumes for Halloween. However, if a student dresses up for the holiday, we also do not require them to change.
