EDUCATOR OF THE WEEK
This week's Educator of the Week is GWS Kindergarten Teacher, Mr. John Gallagher. Mr. Gallagher began his career in Marshfield 35 years ago as a Special Education teacher. He soon switched over to teaching Kindergarten at the GWS, where he has remained for 33 years.
When asked about Mr. Gallagher, GWS Principal, Ms. Hubbard noted that, "After being asked to teach kindergarten, he fell in love with the position, especially the children. His fun and energetic teaching style makes everyone smile. Mr. Gallagher has been a mentor for many new teachers over the years."
She went on to add that, "When you visit Governor Winslow, you might see Mr. Gallagher helping out at PTO events, teaching Lego Car Racing for After School Enrichment, building leprechaun traps, or even dancing on the desks! Mr. Gallagher loves Governor Winslow, and our school community loves him right back!"
Mr. Gallagher was born and raised in Marshfield and has spent his entire professional career with the MPSD. And on June 13 (barring any unforeseen weather events), Mr. Gallagher will be retiring from the job he loves and the town he calls home. Thank you Mr. Gallagher and congratulations on being named Educator of the Week. #WeRMarshfield

MARSHFIELD 2036- STRATEGIC PLAN
MARSHFIELD 2036
AN OPEN INVITATION FOR FOCUS GROUP PARTICIPANTS
In September 2023 we will welcome the Marshfield High School Class of 2036 into kindergarten. What will the world be like when today’s students leave school? What do our schools need to do to assist and prepare our students to be successful students, compassionate individuals, and engaged citizens? These two questions are the motivation behind Marshfield Public Schools’ comprehensive Strategic Planning process: MARSHFIELD 2036. Throughout the spring, the district intends to:
Engage the Public;
Create a Clear Vision for Our Schools;
Establish Action Plans for Realizing that Vision; and
Focus on Continuous Improvement and Systemic Renewal.
To complete our Strategic Plan, the District has partnered with the Teaching and Learning Alliance (TLA) to facilitate our process. The first phase of MARSHFIELD 2036 will involve a series of Focus Sessions, facilitated by our TLA Consultants, where participants will be given the opportunity to provide suggestions for revising our Educational Philosophy and Goals, as well as identifying future trends and issues that may pose challenges and opportunities for our community, our schools, and our students.
The quality of our Strategic Plan will be directly related to the quality of feedback and participation in the focus sessions. At this time, Marshfield Public Schools is seeking volunteers to participate in one of the focus sessions with our TLA Consultants. Please see the opportunity to meet with our consultants below and share your thoughts:
Target Audience: Marshfield Parents/Guardians & Community Members
Date: Monday, April 10, 2023
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: Marshfield High School Auditorium
Over the years, Marshfield Public Schools’ success has hinged on the broad-based involvement and support of our community. We have consistently relied on the expertise, interest, and ideas of our faculty and community to create an outstanding school system for our students. Based on those successes, we are once again reaching out to the entire Marshfield community through MARSHFIELD 2036 to ensure future generations of Marshfield residents benefit from our programs and services for years to come.
Please consider joining us as we plan strategically for the future. If you are unable to attend the focus sessions, please note that a survey will be forthcoming, which will provide you another opportunity to share your feedback regarding the Marshfield Public Schools. Please consider joining us in building a better future for our students.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey W. Granatino

FBMS GETS A NEW EMPLOYEE
Winnie is a 1 year old Chocolate Lab who has been trained continuously since the age of 3 months and has earned the Good Canine Citizen Certification. Mrs. Damphousse and Winnie will be working together primarily with the 6th grade students but will be available for 7th and 8th grade students as well.
I had a chance to meet Winnie this week and, besides some negotiations on more "doggie treats", she was extremely friendly and excited to work with our students and staff. Welcome Winnie!
LAURA DUKSTA SPEAKS TO GWS & DWS
Later in the day, she also presented to students and staff at the DWS. It was a great day for our students and staff and hopefully it may have inspired some future authors.

MEF- ST. PATRICK'S DAY- 5K!!
The MEF is an amazing organization and through this event, along with other fundraising efforts over the years, they have funded over $1 million in innovation grants for our MPSD educators. We can never thank them enough and our students and staff are better off due to the support of the MEF.
A big thanks as well to the countless volunteers and sponsors who gave resources and their time to make this the best St. Patrick's Day race in the Commonwealth. #WeRMarshfield
