Cold Flu Season
Fall is quickly approaching and so is cold and flu season! Please help us keep our school community healthy by keeping your child at home when they are not feeling well. Keep your student home if they are experiencing any of the symptoms below:
Fever or chills
Shortness of breath
Wet or productive cough
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
Sore throat
Runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
New loss of taste of smell
While in school, your student can help slow the spread of germs by covering their nose or mouth when coughing and sneezing, and washing hands frequently with soap and water.
Please note that COVID no longer has a quarantine period. Students may return to school as soon as they are feeling better and have been vomit/diarrhea-free and fever-free (without the use of medication) for at least 24 hours. Please tell the school if they are going to be absent due to illness.
If you have additional questions, please email School Nurse, Rachel Henderson at hendersonr@easton.wednet.edu
New Classes at Easton this Year
More new classes we are offering this year Outdoor Education and Creative Writing.
Outdoor Education is for our students in grades 6-8 and is team taught by Mrs. Allenbaugh, Mr. Penoyer, and Ms. Loyd. The class has been working on several projects here at the school such as developing a plan humanely trap and release the rabbits that are on campus and causing more and more of an impact as well as mapping out where native area plants to be added to the campus.
Creative Writing is taught by Ms. Lewis for grades 9-12. This is an elective class and students self select if the want to take the class instead of several other electives being offered. The class is currently modernizing classic fairly tails.
Materials Needed for Outdoor Ed Class
Mrs. Allenbaugh is asking for pointed nose shovels Wednesday - Friday this week and bags of compost/garden soil for our ground preparations before planting. If anyone is able to loan the class shovels for a couple days and/or donate bags of compost/garden soil that would be very much appreciated!
