I know you all are extremely busy finishing out the last few days of the school year. I have a few things that I want to make sure you all are aware of. Below is information about a toolkit for the upcoming season 2 of the Netflix series "13 Reasons Why" which is being released today. I am also including information on a suicide and self harm session to be presented by the San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital here at Region 20. Information on the summer counseling externship opportunity will be listed as well. Lastly, I am including pricing information on the joining the counseling cooperative. Mental health and teen suicide is a difficult topic to discuss in schools, but conversation among educators surrounding this vital issue is the first essential step toward prevention. In this training, participants will review current best practices and relevant research regarding students who self-injure and are at risk for developing suicidal behavior. Participants will discuss how best to serve students during the school day and explore local and regional support services. Participants will experience strategies for student and staff discussion, risk assessment, and postvention techniques.
